Iberostar Rose Hall Brides - Post all info/questions here!

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies just so you know the vendor passes are $100 per person.  As per Nicole the prices for 2011 may increase 10% from 2010.

Does anyone know if we are allowed to wed at the Grand if we are staying at the Suites for an extra cost?

Nicole finally answered me back and was very detailed in her response so I'm happy lol.  Can't wait for the brides to post their reviews.  Does anyone know if Imuze ever did her review?

We used a microphone (the minister had it) and we had no complaints about not being able to hear, people laughted at appropriate times, so I think it was okay.  It was very windy our day but seemed very still for Jenns wedding (not trying to steal her thunder, it was beautiful and such a fun group; hubby and I played water polo with the guys on their wedding day).   We had the steel drum band playing but no DJ, fyi.

Congrats Wendy!! I've seen the Huppa decor now so don't worry about putting it in your planning thread. LOL! It looks really beautiful. Could your guests hear you guys ok over the wind?

Just a heads up everyone, Nicole emailed me that they will no longer be working with Flower Studio as of 2011. Their 2011 packages will now be working with Tai Flora (for all you 2011 brides!). Nicole said to email Tai Flora and cc her in on the emails so she can keep posted.

Also, I didnt know this but if you want to have a DJ for your reception, you need to rent the resturant that you are using. If you dont pay the extra to reserve the resturant - no DJ. I guess that makes sense but now some added costs to consider!

Havent seen Imuze's review and I think I am giving up!

My TA said in her experience working with the resort, they honor the rates you are given when you BOOK, meaning we would receive the 2009/2010 rates.  I am budgeting for an icrease.  We will see what happens.

The pics on Tai Flora website are great!  I had been eyeing them before.  Will be shooting them an email for a quote shortly and let you all know what I hear back from them.

She has been under the weather, but she still plans to post her review.  Anyone can PM her and she is really good about answering back.  The last time I PMed her she also said that she was trying to figure out the new thread.  I am excited about reading her review also!

Hey lady!  I know that this is the going rate, but those prices are very steep and it feels good to know that you agree with me...lol!  Thanks for the sax information also. I think that my guest would love that idea!

Tina,

I asked Kymora (Grand WC)  if I could have my reception at the Suites because I heard that Steak house is AWESOME at the Suites. She told me I couldn't because they like to keep the brides at the hotel their staying in. She also gave me the example of what happens if a bride books the suites but the steak house isn't availble because a bride from the Grand has booked it. But listen to this my travel agents step son just got married and they were originally staying at the suites and they overbooked..so, they moved everyone to the Grand and still had their reception at the Suites.

Hi everyone-

I dont know if its just me, but I am so anxious about the "unknowing".  I thought by doing a destination wedding I wouldnt be as stressed but I think its the exact opposite.  I am a nervous wreck trying to plan this wedding with little to no communications from Nicole.  I love this site but we are all contrbuting bits and pieces and I am so nervous about missing something....

I dont know if I feel added pressured because my FI's sister (soon to sis n law and matron of honor) just had her wedding in PR and while it was nice in the long run so many things went wrong.  I had to step in an whip it her resorts coordinator into shape.    And while it is not a competition the expectation for me to step my wedding up is there because i am a professional event planner.....

UGH! Does anyone feel like this or is this my crazy not having control issues stepping in?... LOL!!!

Now does this mean if you just use the resort DJ you have to rent out the restaurant? That is not what I got from other bride's reviews. Sorry, just confused...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
