There are some things that are very important food music and flowers thats really what makes your wedding so i will consider to pay for a pass if he is better great!! i dont want to say i wish!! Nikki can you please post some info on this DJ? Thanks

Its a tricky decision choosing any vendor from afar! I personally havent found many reviews on any Jamaican DJs so I kinda went with my gut here - Sure the above are good reviews of Kevan (but mostly by noobs and lurkers) and on his facebook page (which he of course has control over) but I chose him because he just seemed very professional. He always responds to my emails in a timely matter and has helped me out finding things in Jamaica that were not really related to his job. His website is also very professional and he is a BDW vendor as well :)

 

This is what he quoted me for my wedding:

 

WEDDING DJ SILVER PACKAGE $550.00

  • (this package is for  up to 4 hrs of music)
  • Free meet and greet consultation with your DJ
  • professional digital sound system
  • cordless microphone for speeches and introductions
  • wide variety of music

 

I didnt bother to negotiate the price with him because it fit my budget and he really put a lot of time and effort in with me before I even hired him. Having a good DJ is SUPER important to me. Not only to have good music (my family LOVES to dance) but to have the option to request songs throughout the night, and have someone MC the event. You dont get that from your Ipod.

 

That's about all the info I can give you ladies atm! I'm 3+ months from my big day so on my return you can expect a thorough review of all my vendors, if you can wait till then :)

Hi breeze I'm so grateful I read this thread.  I started to read your review and others for the DJ.  Once I visited his facebook and he highly referred by Sungold I think it sealed the deal for me in my mind.  I love Paula from Sungold and she seems to think highly of him.  God I surely hope my gut instincts with the both of them are worth it and that I'm not just being sold on their great selling style lol.

If you check his face-book it seems like they did a wedding together recently and Paula also sent another bride his way recently.  You have no idea how happy I am that I read this, I'm so excited woot.gif.  Breeze are you having a beach party?  Sorry if I've already asked you.  

 

 

I want to have a beach party and fire dancers.  I also want to have a welcome party and possibly a bonfire after the rehearsal dinner.  Not sure if I'm going overboard

Hey Ladies,

 

Thank you for the info this DJ sounds like good stuff, i think after my ceremony i will be looking forward to unwinding and a good DJ will seal the deal. Sungold is great and Michael Chen i will be choosing one of the two, florist i will not be using flower studio not sure who yet. Being on this forum is great. wow I really like this set up asheeki.  Are you getting married at the gazebo?  I think I've heard a lot of good things about Tai florist.  One of the brides used Godfrey and his work looked fantastic and was about a quarter of the price. Just wish we had more recommendations.  You may want to ask Nicole if he's worked with her again.

Hello my ladies!  I wanted to ask you guys why you decided against the resort DJ?  I thought I was done with everything until you guys hired outside DJs.  Now I am super concerned because I really want to have a great reception so of course music is super important! Let me know what's going on!

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations.
