I might just go all orchids or something local to keep costs down, though I think flowers do have a big impact on the overall look so I do want them just right :)
I did ALOT of research on flowers in Jamaica and I still havent completely nailed down a florist but I think I am going with Boulevard Florist out of Negril. They are the supplier for the Couples Swept Away in Negril, and while I can't find anyone on BDW that has used them for more than their standard bouquet, they were well recommended by a wedding planner in Negril I spoke to. Their quote was the best I received. Actually all of the quotes I got from the florists in Jamaica were WILDLY different, some were like triple what she quoted me. I've never recieved quotes from florists before but... WOW!

Only the Dendrobium orchids are local to Jamaica. All others are imported. I found a flower supplier on facebook who has her own greenhouses in Jamaica and had photos of some of the locally grown flowers and imports. Check here :http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?...a=8&ajaxpipe=1

Amazingly, even she was more expensive than Boulevard, but I think she's smaller and probably pays more for the imports I asked about.

Good luck!

Glad to hear the wedding went well! You and your beau look great- so happy! Can't wait to hear about your experience.

I think 'Sparkles' did have her wedding at the Grande and her pics were done by Sungold with a link as a part of her siggy so you can get a better idea of the venue. I think a lot of brides are not getting married at the Grande due to the cost and the fact that it is adults only. Beautiful choice though!

I am using Angel's Accents for my flowers, even though they are fake the pictures online/review are awesome! Also my bouquet was only about $125 compared to the $350++ I was quoted for the same real flowers in Jamaica. If you aren't picky about the exact type of flowers and are willing to go local you can get a nice bouquet of real flowers for a good price. Shop around!

Hello Imuze

I will be getting married at IRHS on March 26,2011 and I want to use Tai Flora. How were they? Did you get what you wanted? Please let me know because not impressed with Flower Studio. Any info would be appreciated.

Hey Guys,

Has anyone decided to go with the resort photographer? If so, let me know!

Also, anyone doing any fun entertainment for their wedding? Fire dancers, outside band etc?

We are hoping to get fire dancers for the reception as an added surprise for the guests. We also want to do a boat cruise of some kind during one of the days we are all there.

Imuze - hope you are feelin better, cant wait for your review and pics!

Virgo,

Do you have pictures that we can see or you can send them to me at nt31@earthlink.net.  Please tell me how the dj and violinist worked out because I want both.  Did you have to have a cd for the d.j. or did you just let him do his thing and let people request songs?

Imuze also used Tai......so we can use them through the hotel with Nicole if we want to instead of Studio?

Thanks girl,

Nikki

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
