Iberostar Rose Hall Brides - Post all info/questions here!

Recommended Posts

I just emailed all my documents to Nicole to book our date for April 23, 2011! Fingers crossed its not already booked! She has been really great about responding to my emails. I haven't had to wait longer than a day. Maybe its just best to keep them brief and to the point for a quicker response time?

Q: Does anyone know if they have a projector if you wanted to show your guests a slide show during the dinner/reception time?

We're doing a cocktail hour in the jazz room between the ceremony and reception. We wanted to give our guests something to do while we're taking pictures. We also wanted to make sure they get something to eat before the reception, so we're probably going to go with Menu B of the appetizer choices.

I know some people are having everyone meet at one of the bars, which can work out great if you're group isn't too large, especially because it's free.

Cool, didn't know that was possible! Is your rehearsal dinner private, or is your group going to be put together in one section of the restaurant? What restaurant are you doing it at?

We're having our rehearsal dinner at the Mediterranean restaurant because I wanted to serve the surf & turf. Nicole didn't indicate if it was private but all 44 guests are going and the movie screening is private so we'll definitely have our own area. We're having our reception at Aunt Ruby's steakhouse.

Wow NegrilLB- 112 guests!? That is awesome, you are going to take over the resort!!

Hi everyone!! Thanks for sharing all this great info. I'm in the process of picking a resort and I have a few questions which hopefully you all might be able to answer :)

1- Beach vs Suites... any opinions, pics, pros/cons, anything to help me decide between the two would be greatly appreciated!!

2- Does the Iberostar allow you to have private events right on the beach? Like your reception or at least cocktail hour?

3- ok last one for now...is the beach really as bad as I keep reading? That's something thats important to my FI and I, we love to snorkel and dive so we are hoping to be able to do that right off the beach.

THANKS!!!!! Can't wait to hear from you all!!!!!!! :-D

IRHB currently does not offer private events on the beach although the WC did tell me there is a plan in the works!

The beach depends on what you have to compare it to. It's not the best beach in the Caribbean and it's not even the best in Jamaica but if most guests have only seen say East Coast beaches in the US then they will be impressed. When I was there in October it would not have been possible to snorkel right from the beach. It was a little too rough there for that (could have been a timing thing, currents, etc.).
Was there a lot of seaweed on the beach when you were there? I really want a nice beach and out of Montego Bay I thought this would be the nicest. Any other thoughts on the beach there?

Thanks for the info TA Maureen :) Trying to figure alll this stuff out is so confusing and frustrating so its awesome that there are so many helpful ppl on this site. I have another question for you all!!

--I know that all three IBRH resorts are right next to each other, so can you walk along all three beaches? What are the restrictions between resorts?

--Which resort is best for weddings (Suites or Beach), in everyones opinion? I really really wanted a reception or cocktail hour on the beach so I"m kinda bummed that I don't think they offer it sad.gif

Thanks so much!!!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
