Iberostar Rose Hall Brides - Post all info/questions here!

For anyone that was wondering about the space available on the terraces of the steakhouse - I just got a reply from Nicole that each terrace can fit a maximum of 8 round tables. The round tables seat 8 people. If you use the rectangular tables, you can fit more (I think 10 tables per terrace, 10-12 per table).

I just discovered the seating arrangement tool on weddingwire.com and it is very cool! You can make a drawing of the whole layout of the reception area and click and drag your guests names to seat them at the table. Kind of fun :)

I asked her what is the maximum number of tables that will fit on each terrace, so with 8tables I think that the terrace will be full. But that at least gives an idea of how much space there is in general... so if you have only 4 tables on the terrace, you have 4 tables' space worth for dancing. I'm thinking we might do 7-8 tables on one terrace, and then on the other one 5-6 tables (depending on # of people). Then we would use the remaining space on the 2nd terrace for the first dances since you don't need that much space for that. Then the main dancing area on the beach. I don't know, I keep changing my mind, lol.

o boy...this is a tough decision! seriously, she needs to just knock down the wall..it would be soo much easier!

by the way i also asked Nicole about the sunset at that time of year..this is what she wrote:

Hello Maggie,

The sunset in May usually starts at 5:45 to 6:00pm and it gets dark around 7:00pm.

Thanks so much NegrilB for the info about the space available on the terrace!! I was thinking of putting maybe 1/3 of the tables on one side along with the head table, then the remaining 2/3 on the other side. I was thinking the dance floor area could be on the side with the head table and less round tables, but using the beach for dancing is a good idea. Like you, I'm just not sure how the older guests will like that. Hopefully not all 100 guests will show up, then I can use one side for dinner and the other side for dancing.

I think some people were wondering about the price of centerpieces from Taiflora. I've been in contact with taiflora and here's the quote they gave me based on the types of arrangements and flowers I asked about:

Trumpet vases with roses, casa lilies, mokara and dendrobium orchids in style of img 122 of website - $120 each

Fish bowls with arrangement of Hydrangea, roses, drooping mango calla lilies, accents flowers - $95 each

and for the huppa $400 for: Fully draped bamboo arch with 2 medium side arrangements in brides colours: roses, casa lilies, mokara orchids + accent flowers

If you have all 100 guests and don't mind the rectangular tables, fitting everyone on one terrace I think would still work. I had been trying to figure out where to put the head table also... for now we have actually decided to have it in the area that is between the 2 terraces. When we were there in October we asked Nicole if that was possible and she said it would be fine. Looking at the space it looked like it would work out so that most people on both sides would be able to see the head table.

Thanks for the Taiflora price info, especially the huppa. $400 is the best price I've seen so far for that kind of arrangement. I haven't heard from Flowerstudio yet. She has responded to my e-mails saying that she can get me prices, but then doesn't give them to me lol.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
