New Years resolutions

Recommended Posts

This year I am going to resolve my differences with my sister.

I am going to work on losing weight and being nicer to myself and my body by eating better and getting more exercise.

I am going to enjoy my kids more and be more organized.

This will give me some accountability, so here are mine!

  • Print and organize all of my photos into albums - believe me, this is a daunting task: I've got thousands of unsorted personal photos.
  • One day a week learn 3 new species ID features (birds, plants, fish).
  • Learn one new photo skill every week.
  • Expand my career network.
  • Pay down debt by decreasing bills, spending, and interest rates AND sticking to a BUDGET (eep!).
  • Update my photo blog at least twice a week.

These are not necessarily in order of importance, because they are all very important in their own facets of my life. :)

In order of importance:

  • Be confident in what I want to do, but especially in what I have to say! I have this evil insecurity of looking everywhere else besides a persons eyes and giggling/smiling too much when speaking or being spoken to.
  • Return phone calls/texts, dont break plans last minute, stop being so much of a flake. I hadnt realized I became anti-social over the years until I finally broke off a longterm unhealthy friendship
  • Take better care of my appearance. I want to be a girlie girl this year!
  • Train for a race...maybe even for a marathon. I started 2 years ago and lost motivation while wedding planning. This one covers tone up/weight loss too!

Some things that come to mind and probably others will over the next few days:

  • Live in the moment. Don't harp on the past.
  • Be nice to myself - Be consistent with a healthy regimen.
  • Learn patience!
  • Eliminate debt and save.
  • Spend more time with those that mean the most.

1. Call Grandma and Grandpa 5x per week (they are in thier 90's and it brightens thier day)

2. Get to the denist more regularly (like normal people)

3. Get back to Yoga and working out regularly

4. Give myself a break and stop being so judgemental of me.

    • we ended up using Facebook messenger when we were in Mexico - the hotel had free wifi and at least 1 person from each family/couple had FB on their phone already - it was pretty easy to communicate among guests "hey, we're heading to the beach bbq for lunch." or "everyone is hanging at the small pool today".  a plus was that some people tried to get a hold of me via FB on the day of the wedding and I was totally not checking my phone - they were asking if the wedding was outside given the rain forecast, thankful my mom, MOH and a few other friends were on the group and could respond for me :)

    • Another option is to find an app that allows for group talk. This Wedding Party App looks pretty neat. https://apracticalwedding.com/wedding-party-app/
    • Hi Everyone, So, I was cleaning out my closet and realized that I never sold off my extra wedding OOT bag stuff from our wonderful DW.   46 Daily Spanish for Dummies 30 Pool colored OOT fabric bags - approximately 13in x 13in. They lay flat.  I used them for our wedding and they were perfect for everything we needed to fit in each bag. There’s a slight shade variation in the group; I’m guessing some were cut from a different bolt of fabric.  They are also a little wrinkled from storage and will probably be wrinkled from shipping. I have three additional ones, but they somehow got something on them (likely toddler related). If needed, I can try to wash it out and send those as well.
    • I’m getting married in six months to my foreign girlfriend. I was advised by a friend that one of the things I need to do before saying I do is to get a prenuptial agreement. Basically it’s supposed to protect my assets and properties in case my relationship with my future wife goes down the drain. I don’t know though if this is an acceptable practice when marrying Kiev ladies. I don’t want to do it if it would be insulting on her end. I need advice on this. Please help me.
