Where to register in Canada...

With so many stores closing, I dont know where to register..We are for sure going to register at Sears but dont know where else to register. We wanted to do Canadian tire, but most of the stores around here don't do the bridal registry anymore. There isnt a Hudson Bay around the area either!! Where else would be a good place to register?! Walmart? (I heard they have a crappy register system for when people go to buy things..you have to look individually at all the codes to find the right product that the bride/groom picked)

 

Any suggestions fellow Canadians?

Do many of your guests live near a Bay, Home Outfitters or Zellers store? If so, you can request a gift registry package from HBC. You can also create an online registry at William Ashley. You could do a travel registry. Might Canadian Tire have an online service that you can set up a registry with?

 

Sorry, I can't think of much else at the moment, I'll post again if I can think of anything else.

I would try and get to a Bay store... We've had nothing but great service with them... plus I believe people can buy for your registry online...

 

We tried to register at Home Outfitters (same company as the Bay) and had nothing but grief - they wanted us to commit to an 8 hour session in their store to register and were booking appointments 6-8 weeks out! We walked into a Bay store without an appt, spent 15 minutes with the clerk and were off and running... It's hard to believe that they are the same company!

 

I know others have had luck with Home Outfitters - it just wasn't for us...

 

I am not sure where you live, but I am in a small city that does not have many options - we do have a independently owned home and gift shop that will do registries and will give your guests the opportunity to call in and purchase or go online...

I live in a large city...so there are all kinds of stores! But the problem is my hometown is a small city and thats where I am going to be having my showers, and the majority of the ppl attending the showers are from there..so that kinda sucks! I dont want to register at a large store and have them have to drive an hour just to go to the store...

I wish they had more stores cause I love Home Sense and Home Outfitters...

All that is pretty much there is a Zellers, Walmart, Sears, Canadian Tire, Rona, maybe a Home Depot? and alot of small home businesses....

 

I will definately check out Home Depot or Rona...thanks for all your help!!!

 

Has anyone registered at Walmart beforehuh.gif? Any experiences?! At least I know I will have a good experience with Sears...

you might be able to do a Bay or Sears registry online, try giving them a call. Also, you can register for a honeymoon instead, with a travel agency. That way you can actually pick the things that you want to buy for the house and have your guests pay for the holiday. We didn't do a registry, I wanted to register with Holts hahaha but my FI wasn't so wild about that idea wink.gif instead we opened a joint bank account and gave our guests that info, we included a "business card" type of card just saying that we would appreciate their presence and didn't need to give gifts, but if they wanted to they could deposit money into this account to help with our downpayment. We had amazing responses from ppl. They really liked that, and most actually just sent cheques. Don't SETTLE for a registry, it should be something you love.

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations.
