Here's what I have on my wedding website - the miles are all from the hotel we're getting married at (Hotel Esencia)...hope this helps!

Things to Do

Ecological and Environmental Exploration

The Caribbean coast of the Riviera Maya stretches south of Cancun for 75 miles, fronted by the second largest coral reef in the world. If you decide to explore, here are some great ideas to give you inspiration!

Cenotes: The Riviera Maya is particularly known for its unique subterranean rivers and caves, otherwise known as "cenotes." Many locations within the jungle provide rental equipment as well as guides and instructors for cave diving.

Xcaret: Ecological and archaeological park, dedicated to the Mayan and Mexican cultures and to preserving the environment and ecology of the area. (11 miles)

Selvatica: Extreme adventure park. Tour the jungles of The Riviera Maya by horseback or zip-line. Pick-up is available at pretty much any hotel!

Xel-Ha: Ecological and archaeological park with turtle and dolphin sanctuaries and a research center. (15 miles)

Tulum: The archaeological zone at Tulum, a walled Mayan port city perched above scenic beaches, combines the mystery of the ancient civilization with the singular beauty of the Caribbean Sea. (43 miles)

Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve: Included in the World Heritage List by UNESCO, the third largest protected area in Mexico encompasses lagoons, reefs, lakes, mangroves and forests. Virtually uninhabited, it contains a dazzling array of animal and plant life. (51 miles)

Chichen Itza: Considered the most awe-inspiring of all ancient Mayan cities,Chichen Itza's pyramids loom over huge plazas, intricately aligned with the sun and stars. (267 miles)

Golf Courses

There are six different courses in the Riviera Maya that provide first-class design and facilities: The Mayan Resorts Golf with 18 holes designed by Jack Nicklaus; the Iberostar Beach Paraiso Golf Club with 18 holes designed by PB Dye; Puerto Aventuras with 9 holes; Playacar Spa and Golf Club with 18 holes designed by Robert Von Hagge; Bahia Principe with 18 holes designed by Trent Jones and The Camaleon Mayakoba Design with 18 holes designed by Greg Norman.

Hey Ladies,

Just to let you know, unfortunatley from reading the links in the forum, by asking someone to email you a document or asking for donated points can get you removed from this forum. The only way you will be able to access this information is when you have over 150 posts.

Luckily someone informed me of this information before I was removed from the forum.

Hope this helps!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
