If we can find a photographer we love for under $5000 we would be ecstatic!! I'm going to check out your photos tonight!! Thx!
Nate is AWESOME! (I have a link to his pro pics in my siggy) and WITH travel was WELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL under $5000! He is young and a LOT OF fun! Everyone raved about him!!

Here is his email - nate.broshot@gmail.com
He is redoing his website at the moment so I think it is down right now, but it is License to Still Blog

He is the best choice I made for my wedding!

Thanks for the suggestion!! I looked at Nates photos and they are brilliant! You must be SO happy with your wedding photos!!!

I'm sorry I didn't see you post until today! I've been deglecting this forum (and wedding planning for that matter) trying to soak up as much of the sunshine as possible!! Sharing the travel costs of a photog would have been an awesome plan!! Did you end up booking Nate??

FI and I found an awesome local photographer we are going to take with us to Mexico. Originally I was afraid her prices would be way out of our budget, but she gave us a few little discounts here and there and is going to pay 50% of the travel costs herself!!

We are very excited!

As for paying for the wedding. We are going to put everything on VISA... so we can rack up the avion points.... and then pay it off every month. We have vowed to not go $0.01 in debt for this wedding!!

We actually ended up flipping a coin and we booked Jillian Mitchell.

haha I agree Kat, although I wouldn't want to spend that much on a wedding anyway, it would just seem like a waste  when there are so many other things I could do with that.

Were hoping to stay under $6000.00 to $6500.00, which includes everything,,, travel/resort, wedding dress and FI clothes, OOT bags(filled), Rings, flowers, Hair done for wedding day, photographer,  ect, I cant even think about spending anymore. For me going down south I think of simple and beautiful, and not over the top.

Id like to see pic's as well, of the wedding with all the big $$ spent :)  im sure its really nice. But for me, that much for a wedding south is a waste.

We are getting married at the Aventura Cove and Spa in Rivera Maya, near Playa Del Carman and are staying two weeks. So I think itâ€s worth the 5k. It will also be our hunnymoon.

I am spending at least 2.8k on photography. Del Sol was the first “Must Have†for my wedding. Their unparallel ability to capture photo journalism in a captivating, esthetic manner had me hooked. I knew after seeing their first slide show that these are not the photographers that also specialize in high school graduation photos on the side. These are the photographers that magazines featured in global publication such as National Geographic, and Photoshop Worlds….and I needed to have them.

You can see their work -àhttp://delsolphotography.com/blog/z

If you love the Del Sol style, but would prefer a more economical choice. Matt, Owner of Del Sol is started another company under the Del Sol umbrella called La Luna.

Their website is located HERE ->  http://www.lalunaphotographers.com/

You should take a look; I believe some of the pictures posted on the website are of Best Destination Wedding Brides.  I think they only start at about $400! If you are looking for amazing photography you need to check this out. Just think of how many hours you can get at 400 per hour! I don't think I could even find a deal like that back home.

We got pretty lucky. We just bought a house this year and qualified for the first time home buyers credit. We are using the 8k from that to help pay for a few of the expenses.

It's not a wedding south actually; it's east from us in Europe. Well, the biggest reason our budget being that high is because we're paying for the accommodation and rides, etc. for all the guests so we add them in to our budget. They'll only be paying for their own flights and anything they plan to do by themselves. It's not more than the wedding itself, but definitely adds more to budget.

I still have two years to go, but will post pictures when the time comes =]

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
