      So the FI and I discussed budget tonight for the first time (after most things are already chosen) as Mom comes in on Tuesday to Plan & SHop-YEAH! This is SCARY! Thanks Twixy for posting a spreadsheet, I found the knot budget to not be very useful.

        Yeah the knot budget wasn't so great. weddingchannel has a better budget planner.

        My main problem w/ budgeting this right now is the accommodations. We don't want to do it at a resort, so we're trying to find a beach house or an estate where we can stay with our family/ friends and have the ceremony & reception all in one. Kinda like a family vacation w/ wedding. I'll talk to some wc's this week, so we'll see what numbers come from that... We're trying to save $18,600... *sigh* SCARY is RIGHT!!

          I will check out the weddingchannel budget, I haven't looked there. Thanks

            Hi ladies,

            I'm just getting into this game now with only 6 months to go till the wedding...it's my fiance's second wedding so he really wants to down play the whole thing. What's important to me is that we are together on a beach....can't think of much else besides not having all of his boozing friends there. So I think only one other couple is coming with us....and we're going to get married in wedding bathing suits!

            Anyway, I'm wondering about the free wedding packages. We don't really have any guests so I'm trying to figure out the best way to choose a resort with the best free wedding package...any thoughts? Suggestions?

            Please help!!!!

                  Here's what we have right now:

                  Ceremony: including dress, suit, flowers, hors dourves: 2400
                  Flight, transportation, and 10 night stay: 4000
                  Photography and videographer: 1300
                  Invitations, STD's and postage: 350
                  Pre-marital counseling: 400
                  OOT bags: 150

                  Total: 8,600

                  We are still deciding on an excursion to take everyone too and with other stuff that is bound to come up, I'm guessing 10K is where we will end up.

                  I also attached the spreadsheet I made up to get all my costs in one place..hope it helps

                    This is anticipating all 45 people being invited come. I think, realistically, we'll have about 25 people.

                    Travel and flights (honeymoon included - 11 night stay) = $8,300
                    Dress (including alterations) = $1,250
                    Catamaran Cruise - charter = $2,000
                    Rings = $2,000
                    Ceremony & reception = $3,350
                    DJ = $800
                    STD = $250
                    Invitations = $500
                    Website = $100
                    Groom attire = $750
                    OOT bags = $2,250
                    Photographer = $1,800
                    TOTAL = $23,800

                    Our budget was $25,000 so I know we're going to go a little over (or a lot) =0(

                      wow lots of money out there. Was it so expensive because you did everything on your own, or is that how much a package was? In Cuba i'm only spending MAYBE $1000 including the meal, ceremony, paper work, photographer, cake, decorations, etc. And will spend an extra couple to make it personal.

                      Our trip is only $1500 becaue one of us get to go free since we have 25 people coming.

                      We'll probably come in all together under $5000 by the time we pay for some small things.
