I wondered if anyone wouldn't mind sharing their costs for Cuba. I hear its fairly inexpensive there and they also provide some free wedding packages. It would help a lot!

Thanks,

Jenn

Hi Jenn,
I am not going to Cuba but I did look into it. Although the airfare and accomodations can be a bit cheaper from Southern Ontario, the wedding packages seem to be more or less the same wherever you go. You just got to find the package that best suits your needs.

Hmm....okay, let's see if I can keep track of all of this...

Accomodations for me and FI--$2100

Wedding fees--$2000

Catering and liquor (AHR)-$4000

Flowers (real touch)-$295 I LOVE THIS PRICE!

DJ-$495 (friend of the family)

Photographer-$500 (BRILLIANT starving photographer just starting his business)

OOT Bags/Favors-$1000

Wedding party gifts-$800

AHR decorations-$1000

Total--$12,190 before wedding bands. All wedding attire was paid for by the parents. I guess this isn't too bad considering that we got a lot more for this amount than we would have gotten having a wedding at home.

I've noticed that a lot of people's beginning budgets were around $10k, which is where mine is currently at. At first glance, some of the packages seem do-able at that rate, but I always end up opting for the everything under the sun.

However, I'm going to try sticking to my guns with the $10k budget. I'll let you all know what the final numbers are once we get things under control.

Thanks for sharing! Our budget is $10K and right now we are at about $5800 with resort for 2 weeks, "free wedding package", flights (FIs mom & dad are getting these for us with flyer miles), invitations, STD, gift bags and a few items for in them. We still have reception, decorations, entertainment, and attire to get.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
