Yeah the knot budget wasn't so great. weddingchannel has a better budget planner.

My main problem w/ budgeting this right now is the accommodations. We don't want to do it at a resort, so we're trying to find a beach house or an estate where we can stay with our family/ friends and have the ceremony & reception all in one. Kinda like a family vacation w/ wedding. I'll talk to some wc's this week, so we'll see what numbers come from that... We're trying to save $18,600... *sigh* SCARY is RIGHT!!

Hi ladies,

I'm just getting into this game now with only 6 months to go till the wedding...it's my fiance's second wedding so he really wants to down play the whole thing. What's important to me is that we are together on a beach....can't think of much else besides not having all of his boozing friends there. So I think only one other couple is coming with us....and we're going to get married in wedding bathing suits!

Anyway, I'm wondering about the free wedding packages. We don't really have any guests so I'm trying to figure out the best way to choose a resort with the best free wedding package...any thoughts? Suggestions?

Please help!!!!smile105.gif

This is anticipating all 45 people being invited come. I think, realistically, we'll have about 25 people.

Travel and flights (honeymoon included - 11 night stay) = $8,300

Dress (including alterations) = $1,250

Catamaran Cruise - charter = $2,000

Rings = $2,000

Ceremony & reception = $3,350

DJ = $800

STD = $250

Invitations = $500

Website = $100

Groom attire = $750

OOT bags = $2,250

Photographer = $1,800

TOTAL = $23,800

Our budget was $25,000 so I know we're going to go a little over (or a lot) =0(

wow lots of money out there. Was it so expensive because you did everything on your own, or is that how much a package was? In Cuba i'm only spending MAYBE $1000 including the meal, ceremony, paper work, photographer, cake, decorations, etc. And will spend an extra couple to make it personal.

Our trip is only $1500 becaue one of us get to go free since we have 25 people coming.

We'll probably come in all together under $5000 by the time we pay for some small things.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
