Any make-up nuts out there?

I love makeup...granted I hardly wear any these days but I still love it nonetheless. I was cleaning out one of my makeup trunks today and decided to count my MAC eyeshadows and the final count was 65!! wtf.gif

And that's just shadows, I didn't get to count the lipsticks and glosses.

Which I know it may sound crazy and obsessive but there's something about those little black containers that makes me feel so good. My obsession with MAC started about 7 years ago (this feels like a confessional, "HI, I'm Jessica, and I'm addicted to MAC"...LOL)...but I also love other brands of makeup: BareMinerals, Stila, Lancome (the best mascara ever!), Smashbox...and even drugstore makeup (which is where it all began for me).

So I wonder if there are other crazy make-up people like me on BDW or am I the only nut? wink.gif

I'm not a crazy makeup person... yet.... I did just crazily spend $350 on makeup for the wedding (and beyond lol). Since I spent so much money I'm about to become a crazy makeup person! I do love mac tho. I have to agree that the little black containers draw you right in!

Me, me!!

I have the Bare Escentuals addiction. The sales this time of year are soooo good, and the makeup is GREAT. Until I tried BE, I never wore much makeup except for powder, mascara and lip gloss. Wearing BE has actually cleared up my skin, and I love the wide range of colors that compliment my coloring.

I got my sister and mom hooked on it too!

Yeah, I had a lesson to learn how to do my own makeup for the wedding and she just started putting things aside that we were using. She made me makeup that matches my skin tone. All the sudden at the end she told me how much everything was and I almost fainted! I did get a couple of makeup brushes which were expensive, but there better be gold in the rest of the stuff! lol

Same here. I got started at Walgreens just looking at everything and trying all the different colors (buying then trying of course) and then I found Sephora, and it was all over...BTW Diorshow Mascara is the best IMHO! I get compliments on my lashes and I always say I will thank Christian for the compliment.

I worked at Sally's in HS and I think that is where I got into that stuff, but then it was more like dying my hair all the time.

Its fun to see how a new color can change you before your eyes. Yes, its obsession. Glad I'm not alone. ;-)

BE is really good, I only have tried their foundation and the mineral veil...it really leaves your face flawless. my friend hooked me on it. I havent tried their shadows or anything else though, have you?

I've heard of Makeup Forever and yes they are pretty pricey. Let me know if you try their foundation...I've seen their products at Sephora.

sephora is like make-up heaven! love that store....I've heard a lot of great things about Diorshow mascara, does it come in waterproof? For some reason my lashes only stay curled with waterproof mascara...I've tried a dozen other good mascaras (that are not waterproof) and they dont keep the curl.

Lancome Definicils Waterproof has been my favorite for years, its pricey but so worth it (IMO)...I bought a tube right before leaving for my wedding, its the one makeup essential I HAD to have. I wonder why I didnt go crazy buying a sh*tload of makeup before I left...all I bought was the mascara, a MAC lipstick and liner...thats all. probably because I such a procastinator and was running out of time! LOL S&M.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
