All the pictures Ive seen of Riu Negril are awesome. There's probably not a whole lot of difference b/w Negril and RTB, when it all comes down to it. Personally, Id be happy anywhere hot, with lots of good beach, tons of drinks and food. Oh yeah, and FI can come along too!

Hi Lisa,

I am going through the same thing right now. I am quite stressed because I haven't actually booked anything yet and we want to get married Nov 2009. I am travelling to Jamaica the week of Jan 11 so that I can visit ROR, Grand Bahia Principe and Sunset Jamaica Grand. Once I go to the resorts and see the grounds for myself, I will be able to make my final decision. I heard the grounds at Grand Bahia Principe is absolutely beautiful. I will take plenty of pictures. PM me after Jan 18 if you want to see them. I will send them to you.

Hi Lisa, glad to know I am not the only one getting stressed over where to stay and also undecided between the Riu negril and RTB. I am a UK B2B and we will be getting married March 2010.

I would love to get married at the RTB but also have to consider family who wish to be at the wedding and are unsure about the diffrence in the cost of the RTB.

I have also been informed by the TA that there must be 80% of wedding guests staying at the same hotel as the wedding, so unable to book RTB if most of our family members decide to stay at the Riu Negril. Some family members also wanting to wait until later in the year to book to see if cost's come down.

Reading Travel Advisor they also seems to be very mixed reviews although the pictures look beautiful for both hotels. I am a beach person and again conflicting reviews about the beach at the Riu Negril.

Hopeing to have made a decision and have everything booked by the end of March 2009.

I myself have switched my reservations 3x. From ROR to RTB and now to Riu Negril. Riu Negril is cheaper for the guests than RTB, so I switched. But now I'm seriously considering Coral Cove. If you've been to the ROR and want something different Coral Cove might be the spot for you. I heard Coral Cove is beautiful, you can ride a bike around the village and it's very safe. Guests rave about it's beauty and not having to lock their doors with no worries. It's also only 10 miles to Negril if you want the nightly entertainment. Coral Cove is secluded and private. Heard the food was A+++ . The price was very reasonable also. We got a quote for 7 nights, wedding package included, reception, 2 hours of steel band for $3200. Their menus are awesome! Outside guests will be able to attend for $75 (+18.25% tax/gratuity). Let me know if you would like more info, I'll post it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
