My second dress (for cocktail/dinner)

Recommended Posts

Since there are several hours between my wedding and our cocktail dinner hour, I wanted to find a second, more casual dress for the evening.

I finally decided on this one by BCBG.

Since the people making my big wedding dress have been giving me the runaround for the past three weeks (see my five new gray hairs), this'll have to distract me until they get their act together.

Does it seem too casual?

WOW that dress is stunning! I love it! I think it is perfectly beautiful! What do you have planned between the ceremony and cocktail/dinner? I just found out that we will also have some down-time and trying to think of what to do?

But, LOVE the dress!

Are you actually getting this EXACT dress by the designer, or having a similar one made? I like the dress, my only concern (if I were wearing it) would be the fact that you can see her legs allllll the way to the hip - it's a little see-through!! I'd just worried the whole night that I'd be mooning (or, umm... flashing) my friends and family if the dressed moved a little to the left or right!!!

I was a little worried about the see-through part, too, but the dress is supposedly lined (maybe they make the runway dress a little sexier? here's hoping). Anyway, if I'm going to be showing more of Laura than the FILs want to see, I'll have to get creative with the undergarments.

Anyway, as far as down time, we've actually got like 8 hours between the two events, but I'm going to put some tulle in our wedding colors up around a few palapas, and just have our guests hang with us on the beach and drink margaritas. Then we'll all go and get cleaned up and meet for cocktail hour.

It's not very traditional, but I just wanted the day to feel like a big party where everyone was important, not just us.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
