I would for sure use LED. If you are having your reception on Ren Island it will be breezy and regular tea lights will go out (as did ours, wish I got LEDs). Any questions let me know. Juney is awesome and can pull anything together for you. We drank "aruba-ribes", not color-coordinated but damn tasty :)

Hi and congrats!! Do you want to do an all inclusive? If so, then a travel agent would be great to work with, but if not, then you don't neccesarrilly need one.  When we switched to Aruba, I had already knew most of the resorts and hotels and knew that I did not want an all inclusive, so I didn't really need them to help. Good luck!

start emailing the resorts you are interested in. I think that's the best place to start, they will send you their price lists, menus, etc. happy planning!

I just shot a wedding at the DIVI, and the reception was at the Divi Phoenix, and I loved it. As for locations, it's beautiful. Food options are a bit more limited than other sites I've been for all-inclusive weddings. But, I know the couple had an amazing time.

The views, the beach, the water, was all fabulous. Here are the images: http://pictage.com/994513

Good luck to all the Aruba Brides!

Thanks!

Best,

Hi everyone, as a wedding photographer I can say there are more than one very good reason so many couples have their destination wedding on Aruba. SERVICE, SAFETY, WHITE BEACHES and PERFECT Weather. I have seen it all at all resorts on the Island. Every hotel has it's own unique way of dealing with the wedding couple, setup and service and food and beverage. Most hotels do have an inhouse wedding specialist and are able to make your day a memorable one. All hotels have a perfect sunset view at the locations of the wedding so you really can not go wrong. Feel free to email me for samples of wedding and setups at all major wedding hotels.

For a travel agent, I'd check aruba.com for an ACE (Aruba Certified Agent) in your area. I wouldn't necessarily recommend the ACE that I used in NY. Though she was knowledgeable and helpful, she got flustered when thing started getting busy and started making mistakes. I had to get involved to get things back on track.

For a wedding planner, I used Lissy Lampe of Ceremonies and Celebrations and thought that she was great: responsive, organized, accommodating, experienced, well-connected on the island. I really loved working with her. Her e-mail address is candcaruba@yahoo.com.

The resorts that commonly host weddings will usually list the contact information for an in-house or contracted wedding planner. I originally thought that the listed wedding planner would be the only option if I wanted to have my wedding at that resort. After visiting Aruba, I ended up liking the Divi Aruba All-Inclusive, but Lissy was not the listed wedding planner for this resort, and I really liked her as well. I figured it couldn't hurt to ask if she could plan a wedding at the Divi and she could! So don't just assume that you'll have to choose a wedding planner that's not your favorite in order to book the venue that you want.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
