Hello!

My fiance and I are also considering Aruba for our wedding in November 2010. We are also thinking about Barbados, but it seems like we are leaning more towards Aruba.

Now we need to figure out where... We are looking at Bucuti, Divi/Tam, and Manchebo. We aren't planning to visit before we make our decision. Does anybody have any info/experiences to share?

Thanks!

-Jackie

Hi Jackie!

Congrats on getting married! I have never been to Aruba so it did make picking a resort harder but what everyone tells me you really can't go wrong. I just received some wedding info from the Divi/Tam since they were the runners up. You can also go to Official Aruba Community Forum They have a wedding forum and it has some great information on the sit about Aruba weddings and Aruba in general.

Good Luck Planning!

Heather

Hi Everyone,

My Fiance and I are getting married in Aruba April 2010 at Renaissance Island. We are getting married in a Catholic church then having the reception on Renaissance Island beginning at 6pm. I'm so excited! I still have so much to do so I'm kind of freaking out!!! I'm trying to figure out what type of flowers I should have. Are you guys using the same flowers for bridemaids and yourself? My colors are coral and turquoise- any suggestions on flowershuh.gif

Hi! so you made your final decision and the choice was the Renn! How exciting- we're getting married there also next July.

I'm still narrowing things down and haven't decided on the floral/bouquet colors. I really like an all white bouquet but have seen some really nice light colored-blush bouquets, or maybe a tropical mix. I'm not sure yet. I only have one MOH so I guess we could have something similar. Check with Juney, maybe he can send you some pictures of bouquets.

I'm a little nervous and have the fear that I may forget to do something but I think the main things will get done. I've heard nothing but positive things about Juney so we'll be in good hands. lol

Congrats and welcome to the forum!

My FI and I arenâ€t having any BMs or GMs, but if I did I would have them have the same flowers I would have. Unfortunately I donâ€t know anything about different types of flowers so I canâ€t help you there! Sorry!

Welcome!

The beaches in Aruba are public and from what I was told you can't get a permit to have a private wedding. I have seen some pics of weddings on secluded beaches( minus resort guests in their speedos... lol), but I don't know of the location- one place may be Eagle beach?. The Rennaissance has a private island and is a great place to host such an event.

Lori, I am looking for the same thing. The Hyatt is amazing and they have exactly what you are looking for. The only thing is that the prices are very expensive. But if money is not as much of an issue, you should definitely check it out. The Renaissance seems to fit but I don't know if they have an outdoor location that is not on the sand. Let me know what you find.

Well, I havenâ€t been to Aruba so I donâ€t know of any less crowded places to get married. I think you might be better off going to a smaller resort, one that isnâ€t in the high rise area. I know that the Renaissanceâ€s private island is very quiet at dawn when you have the ceremony (from what I read from other brides), but I donâ€t think there is an area that isnâ€t beach (not sure though). From my research I know that some of the resorts have another area outside that isnâ€t in the sand that you can have the ceremony at. I am getting married at the Westin and I know they have a garden area that overlooks the beach.

In still need to book May 2010! We want to do Sirroco lounge at the Westin but my planner says the beach is terrible and windy there. So now we are looking at Marcheblo resort - pavillion (which doesn't look that nice in pics) or the Divi/Tamerin. What helped your decision?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
