I just returned from doing a wedding at Bucati and have to comment! WOW, it was gorgeous! My first impression of the resort was,"where are all the people??"It is such a quiet and relaxing place, a perfect place for a wedding. The coordinator did a great job for them and everything came together perfectly. They held their ceremony right near the ocean before sunset. Then their reception was on the sand, so nice! We got to eat dinner as the sunset.

I would definitely look into this resort, it would be an amazing wedding!

I just got married in Aruba Nov 28 and it was perfect. We had a beautiful sunset wedding on the beach at Manchebo. Some things I recommend:

Lissy Lampe fro Ceremonies & Celebrations was the best wedding coordinator. She was super responsive to my emails and there for the ceremony making sure everything went as planned. She arranged for a great DJ, steel drum band player, beautician for hair & makeup who I would also recommend.

We had dinner at the Manchebo in the outside pavillion, the food was excellent.

Our photographer was Paul Van Driel and he did an outstanding job. You can see photos on Flickr - search for Baur Aruba Wedding.

We rented 2 villas (google Aruba Family Compound) which worked out really well.

Last thing, stop by Tasca La Casada and say hi to our friend Victor and his wife. It's a good restaurant/bar, excellent food, very reasonable prices and it's off the beaten path but not far from the high rise hotels.

congrats!

Suzanne

I'm just starting my wedding planning. Hoping for 9/09 or 11/09. We weren't originally considering Aruba, but since I've been reading these posts, I might change my mind. Would anyone recommend an all inclusive? I like the thought of not worrying about going out to eat, etc. AI make things easier sometimes.

Thanks!!

Hi Everyone,

All this information is so helpful! My fiance and I are planning our wedding for april 2010 in Aruba. I really want to have the ceremony in St Fransiscus Church & Beach reception on Renaissance Island. I haven't heard back from the Renaissance hotel yet... Does anyone have any information they could forward to me? mjtobin27@gmail.com. I'm also looking for reccomendations on photographers- should I fly one in from NY? I would prefer to use someone local as long as they come highly reccommended. My fiance and I are going to be heading down to Aruba this April (19th-26th) to start the planning process. I'm also looking to plan below:

-Cameran for the day/afternoone (any suggestions??)

- Hairdresser to come to me and my bridal party- or a recomendation of a great spa

- Any information on Tierra del solhuh.gif We want to host the rehersal dinner there.

-Also any information on getting married in a Catholic church in Aruba. Is is true that you have to bring your own US priest?

Any information would be so helpful! Thanks in advance!

-Megan

You can get married (Legally) at home (where ever that may be for you) and have a beach blessing here.

Any more questions I'll be glad to help.

Just wondering what you thought of the Riu when you stayed there. I'm considering having my wedding there, but haven't read much about anyone else getting married there. Thanks for any info you can give me!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
