I'm working with a travel agent who is recommending Aruba to me as a possible destination. Specifically, she recommends the Divi (Divi Aruba All Inclusive Home Page) & the Tamarijn (Tamarijn Aruba All Inclusive Home Page). Has anyone been to either resort? Also, does anyone have additional information about Aruba? We are trying to decide between Jamaica & Aruba now, so any information would be helpful!

Aruba, hu? It's georgous!!! My parents are in the process of buying a timeshare there. Marriott Surf Club. Basically I just now the basics of the island. It only get 16 inches of rain a year. It's on the outter edge of the huricane path so isn't affected by storms. Also, a friend that went said that the water is so calm and beautiful that you can bring a floatie and pant yourself in the ocean and not have to worry about the waves or tide taking you out. You just sit and float. It sounds like paradise!

And the sand. OH. MY. GOD. It's sugar. We're planning on the DR but since my parents have been researching and buying in Aruba we're thinking of switching (as to be expected as we can't make a decision to save our lives!) Do you want to get married on the beach?

Probably yes, married on the beach. I would love to get married at Bucuti, it looks GORGEOUS! But we're inviting 100, and Bucuti can only host 50 people max. I'm sure we wouldn't have more than 50 actually come, but if we do & we've reserved Bucuti, we're a little screwed!!! cheesy.gif

Yeah, we're finding that. My TA has an in with the Divi & Tam, and could get good rates for us there. But it'd probably cost the same as Riu Ocho Rios, which seems SO much nicer. I wish I could just make a darn decision already!!!

Have you looked at traveler pics on Trip Advisor?? There are some pretty bad ones of the bathrooms at the Divi. Really old shower/tubs and curtains with mold on them.... but it does get good reviews.

Hello,

I know ive hit this thread a bit late but i wanted to say that i am getting married at the Tamarijn Aruba next september- i went there on holiday last July and i had the most amazing time!!

The island is truly beautiful, peaceful and not destroyed by tourists like Jamaica is, i went there myself a few years ago, and i found it quite dirty and we didn't feel safe outside of the resort. The resort we stayed at was full of loud bolshy people and i have a friend who is a travel rep in Jamaica and she agrees that most of the resorts are like that,

Anyway if you need any info or would like me to email you any photos from my holiday let me know,

also the picture above is a load of rubbish the hotel has been totally redecorated and all the bathrooms have been upgraded!!

PS YOU WALK OUT ONTO THE BEACH!!!!

Best Wishes

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
