Hello! We are Canadians looking to have our wedding in Oct 2008 in Aruba Riu Palace...any insight?? Not sure how much its going to cost, but we're concerned that the other islands are within the hurricane belt and we're trying to avoid that. Your responses are greatly appreciated!

Hey... I have never stayed at the Rui but a friend of mine did last summer and loved it, even with all of the construction going on. I can't really help you on prices either because I didn't consider the Rui when I was getting quotes, but you are definately looking at the right island if you want to avoid the hurricanes in Oct. Good Luck planning!! :o)

I'm going to a destination wedding in Aruba next week (flying out this Thursday - can't wait!), so I can let you know details when I get back if you'd like. I love the Caribbean and which I could get married on one of the islands - but too far for my LA friends & family sad.gif.

Their ceremony and reception are at the Divi Aruba Phoenix it seems. The welcome dinner is at Tango Restaurant. My family is renting a house somewhere on the beach which I"m excited about. I'll share any details I can think of when I get back, or if anyone is getting married at Divi, lmk. I'm pretty sure they hired an outside caterer b/c the mother of the bride is a foodie and wasn't happy with the caterer there (they have a timeshare in Aruba so lots of opportunity to plan things out). This worked since they agreed to pay site fees and for the bar. And they hired a great band supposedly since both the bride and groom went to grad school for music and are thus are harsh critics.

Hi there,

I also live in Milton and have narrowed our choice to Aruba, though I'm still open to other options. I was also looking into pricing for Aruba Riu Place and the Occidental. Both are nice resorts. The Riu Palace is coming in at higher prices.

Hi. I'm a newbie and I'm getting married at the Westin in Palm Beach, Aruba on July 5. I've heard mixed reviews of the place, but I was in contact with a recent bride and she quelled many of the doubts I had. I'm glad I found other Aruba brides!

The date is set and that's about it. We'll be having a small wedding, maybe 30 friends and family. I've never been there, but I only heard great things about the people and food. Does any one have any activities planned? Snorkeling? Horseback riding? What companies are you using?

We are not doing anything on the day after, but we are having a welcome party at Bugaloe Beach Bar & Grill and I am trying to get a snorkeling trip booked on the Jolly Pirates for the day before the wedding.

Do you have any info on your wedding yet? If you have any questions, feel free to ask :o)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
