Hmmm...I have Darienne now, and at first it was really great, she responded quickly, sent me the form where I was actually able to include some of the ideas I had in mind. But, since busy season has seemed to have kicked in, not so much. I'm not actually worried about it anymore. It was really frustrating when I wanted to put my deposit down and neither the Westin or Divi were getting back to me, come to think of it, after all of the work I did with Divi also, they haven't contacted me about confirming to this date! Trying to get everything else in order now, I have sadly just ordered my invitations ( I really thought I could get everything done in 6 months!) How about you Kathie? Is everything esle going to plan?

It's so exciting to read about your experience!! We have just recently decided to move our Manchebo wedding date from April 2012 to October 2011!! A little less time to prepare, but it will only be a few of us now rather than 45...the reception will really just be a dinner now for us, so it will be much easier. I can't wait to read more about your whole wedding process and pick your brain! :)

I plan to post a planning journal soon so everyone can see what I have done and bringing so far, then when we get back I will definitely do a review. Just heard from another Manchebo bride Seana that her wedding went fantastic so now I feel even more excited :)

I've heard really great things about Bucuti; we are getting married at the Manchebo October 28.  We just booked our rooms today!  I'm getting really excited to go...I've never been to Aruba either.  We moved our wedding date six months closer, so everything is going really fast now!

Good luck with all of your planning :)

Hi Jen,

I am getting married at the Occidental in two months. So far, the planning process has been okay. We are now on our third wedding coordinator. First we had Kimberley, then Eliana and now Audrey. Each of them have been very nice, however with each coordinator change I'm starting to get more worried. I spoke to Audrey about two weeks ago. She was super nice, very friendly, and seemed to be on top of everything. My only problem is that she was supposed to get back to me a few days after our call, and I am still waiting to hear from her. I emailed to follow up, but nothing back. I'm just hoping there wasn't another coordinator change!

Has anyone else has this same experience? I understand that they are very busy with other weddings, so taking some time to get back to me is understandable.

Has anyone been married at the Occidental recentley? If so, how was your experience? Any advice/recommendations?!

Any input would be greatly appreciated!!!

Christy

Yeah I think your resort is not very far from Bucuti.  I have always wanted to do a DW but didn't know where.  One of my clients actually got married at Bucuti also and she said if your looking to do a DW you can not go wrong in Aruba!  Wow, yours is definitely coming up quick, the time does really go by so quick.  How did you decide on Aruba??

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
