AHR Menu Help????

Recommended Posts

For our AHR, we're having an hour cocktail reception followed by a buffet.

For our buffet, we're having sliced pork with au jus, roast beef with tiny mushrooms, and chicken cutlets. For veggies we're having green beans almondine, broccoli cauliflower and carrot medley, and garlic potatoes. Linguini with alfredo sauce as our pasta. A spring green salad with champagne vinaigrette.

Along with our wedding cake, we're having a dessert table.

Hope this helps!!

We are planning on doing a either a bbq style dinner....ie: pulled pork, turkey, and beef, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn on cob, and lots of other southern food. Like you we have a lot of people coming to ours...and this is going to be the cheapest route for us. We are getting a pavillion near the lake in our area, to keep with the beachy theme. And have swimming, games, dancing, food, drinks, and cake. Hope this helps!

Those all sound like wonderful ideas. My friends parents are going to cook for us, which helps with the budget end of things but I just found out that we can only have the AHR place for 5 hours so now I am thinking I want something that is fast and easy to serve so we can spend more time having fun dancing and drinking!

We were originally thinking about doing just the BBQ-Southern thing, but my Papaw is coming up from Savannah and I thought it would be awesome if he brought some fresh shrimp off the boat and we did a Low Country Boil (shrimp, potatoes, corn on the cob and sausage). You can have some slaw and maybe some salad and it is a yummy and filling meal. A friend of ours had that at their reception and it went over really well. Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
