please help change of wedding location!!!

Recommended Posts

I am getting married at ERC in October. Lately, the wedding coordinator has been really slow in responding to emails, like a week or two. I just wanted to let you know this since it's really only a matter of weeks until your wedding. The slow response time may make switching your whole wedding pretty stressful as it might be cutting it pretty close to the date, if the date is even available.

How many people are coming to your wedding? If it's a small number like 15, then it's probably going to be a lot easier than if you have a larger group like 50. Definitely find out all the facts before you mention the change to anyone! Some of our guests can't even figure out the details of the trip and they have known over a year in advance fryingpan.gif

I hope everything works out for you! Either way, I'm sure your wedding will turn out beautiful. It's Mexico!

gosh, this is a hard one. i suggest looking into making a pros and cons chart for each resorts and do a price comparison. i would get really nervous about the price difference especially since excellence is more.

i'm a proponent of the "it's our wedding, do what you want" idea, but think of your guests at the same time. just be prepared to come up with the best reasons for resort switch so you won't get negative feedback.

good luck with this and tell us which resort you end up going with! =)

Thanks guys we have a lot to consider fast. Overall we have a pretty laid back family. Im not so sure they would be terribly upset. Im sure we would hear it alittle. With the wedding cooridinator not getting back to you fast is a concern. The wedding coordinator gets back to us that day or the next day at our current resort. Not everyone has booked yet. Really only our parents have booked. Everyone has thier flights though and they all fly into cancun.

I really hope you are able to switch! I'm obviously biased towards ERC :o) Many of us ERC brides have noticed a lag in response time lately. It wasn't like that initially so I don't know what's going on. It would just suck to have the date confirmed and then not hear back about details for a couple of weeks when you really don't have the time to spare, you know?

If you do hear back, at least it sounds like it shouldn't be too much of a hassle for your guests to just book at a new resort. Keep us updated!

We just found out we wont get back our deposit for ASP of 1100 for the wedding and any guest that has booked has to pay 50 bucks to cancel.

So obviously if we change we have to cover those costs plus the extra price of the new hotel.

I got my heart set on this hotel and im not sure im i can afford all of that right now. sad.gif

OMG! I can't believe you are thinking of switching! I am obviously biased, but I think I'm only upset really that there will be one less Aventura bride...especially when there are so few of us to begin with...and I won't be able to plan based on your wedding sad.gif I had literally been counting down the days!

But, really none of that matters. If you want to switch, then SWITCH. It's your wedding and you need to be happy about the place you choose. I looked at Excellence and it really is beautiful. I think the only thing that would keep me from switching is the price...

Good luck, and keep me in the loop!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
