Thank you for all the information and for the candid advice that it is okay if it rains...I keep trying to predict a day that will not rain. That is funny just typing it.

So my question is about the minister that you brought with you. We want my brother in law to perform our ceremony. Our TA said she would look into that for us. Was there any special documentation or pre-planning that you had to do in order to legalize the ceremony?

Thank you for any recommendations! And congratulations on a beautiful wedding and a happy marriage.

Hey ladies,

To answer your question Bradley's Girl -- you don't have to do anything special to have your brother preside over the ceremony. Just bring your birth cert and other required documents as you normally would and you'll still sign the legal documents with the Jamaican minister. He just won't perform the ceremony.

TD -- our reception was completely private. We had the whole Plantation restaurant from 4pm to 11pm.

Scott-Pierre -- I think we paid 2,000 for Michael Chen. It might have been more. Sorry...if you want precise costs, let me know and I'll dig deeper and send them. He was worth every penny. He really put in the time and effort to get amazing pictures. And then he spent extra time afterwards to touch-up photos, correct color stuff, etc.

Hope this helps!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
