OK...so how bad could "different" be?

Recommended Posts

Here is my prob.... this will be my guys second wedding and so far he has not really been into the details. The only thing he seems to have any opinion about is what he wears, the food, the drink, and the music. He wants the food, drink and music to be "good" and he wants to wear something "different" I will not go into what this different is but lets just say it is not what I envisioned....So, my question is. Should I let it go and be happy he wants to help make decisions or should I push him into wearing what I want? What do you ladies think?

I'd just let him wear what he wants, providing it isn't horribly tacky. It might not be exactly what you had in mind for him but I think he needs to be comfortable in what he has on. If he's uncomfortable in/with what he's wearing, it'll probably show all over his face in the pictures too. Hope this helps, it's just my opinion though.

Good luck!! :)

Now, if it is a speedo, heck yes I'd have an issue. If it is something more casual like khakis and a white shirt alot of guys opt for that at a DW. Give him an idea of what you are wearing (with out revealing the actual dress) and ask what he thinks about what he wants to wear and how it will look in photos next to you that you'll both be looking at for the rest of your life.

OMG! I think you probably will want to urge him to express his uniqueness in another way! But I have to say, I think its cute that he got that idea. It shows imaginiation! OR YOU COULD SUGGEST THAT HE BE A KING OR PIRATE>>> ON THE WEDDING NIGHT!!!!!!!!! Win, Win, right?

Haha,
I love that suggestion!

My FI too is a little picky about what he wears but has no ideas when it comes to finding something to wear or doing the research.

In the end I showed him a whole bunch of pics of grooms that I thought looked great and we both got a good idea of what he liked and what he really disliked. He'll be wearing a chocolate brown linen shirt and natural colored linen pants with some Vans slip-on shoes.

I know he'll be happy and that's good enough for me...a pirate outfit might have been another story though.

Good luck :)

Well, I think it should be a compromise. It is very nice of you to cosider his feelings, and the fact that he wants this wedding to be different. And it WILL be different, this time it is with you.

But, the fact is, this is your wedding too... and your first wedding. So, if it is something you really want don't be afraid to put your foot down!

On a side note, he might just be pulling your chain. My FI keeps saying he is going to sing at our wedding- I know that's not happening so I let him joke about it! If he does decide to sing, well, it will be unique that's for sure! The key is to be thoughtful in how you approach it. Which it sounds like you are!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
