$1590 (all in) per person. for the Grand Sunset Princes Platinum

We have an opportunity to take advantage with of a price drop if there is one...but only once.

We flew with AirCanada to Dominican Republic 2 years ago and we hated the layover. We had to fly from YVR to YYZ (~5 hour flight) and then YYZ to PUJ (~5 hour flight). We landed at YYZ at around 11pm. Everything was closed and we had to sleep in the airport because our flight is scheduled at 6am. Ugh.

On the return trip (PUJ to YYZ), the flight was delayed and we ended up missing our connecting flight back to YVR.

Fortunately, there was another flight we can take 3 hours later, but still...had to wait another 3 hours.

I vowed to have direct flights for my wedding so I ended up specifically picking packages from Sunwing or AirTransat as they are the only ones with direct flights from YVR to CUN.

We picked RIU Palace Riviera Maya.

$1,608/guest from YVR

$1,628/guest from YYC

$1,455/guest from YYZ

These are 7 day packages. 11th guest stays free. Price includes flight and all taxes.

Hi @, yes I do...but I keep checking the price and I didn't see the price dropping at all...

How about for your hotel? Did you see the price lowering at all?

We are getting married June 2015 so we just locked down our group rate.  Our travel agent said to check frequently but we most likely won't see it drop until November 2014 or maybe April 2015.

I hope the rate drops for you and your guests!  My travel agent said that usually 90% of the weddings she handles have price drops.  *fingers crossed!

Is YVR Vancouver?  We wanted to price that one out for our Kelowna guests but were told that ACV didn't have a direct flight and it blew my mind. They are a MAJOR center.

I agree, I didn't want a connector either, also gives more opportunities for baggage mishaps.

Thanks @! Did you book it with an independent TA or directly with Sunwing?

@@calgarybride2015, yah YVR is Vancouver. I'm surprised as well that AirCan doesn't have direct flights from Vancouver. We have so many limited options in the West coast. :/

We get the same thing. Our TA said the prices won't probably drop until a few months before the wedding but to keep checking. The only danger with that is that by the time they drop the prices, the rooms left might only be sell-offs, in which case they don't honor the difference. Oh well, it's not like I can wait for the hotel to go on sell-off to book 50 guests.

Agreed!  Our agent said that we would probably find a price drop in November - and that would prob be the best time to take it  because a price drop any later than will prob be selloff vacations and we wouldn't qualify for that rate.

*fingers crossed.

The larger your wedding group- the harder it is to get a price drop as well, since there has to be enough seats/rooms available to cover all of your guests in order to be eligible for a price drop. So if there were only 20 rooms left with your tour operators inventory when they drop the price, and you have 21 rooms in your group- the price drop will not be honored! I will be stalking the pricing as soon as it drops! Haha

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
