Same for us - we just change resorts and stay for the second week in a super nice hotel where even the lowest room category is an amazing suite lost in the jungle wink.gif it's not all inclusive - booked 3 months in advance there is 30% discount and it's 3,500 for 7 nights. We hope a good portion of the rest of the expenses will be covered by the registry wink.gif

Neen, where are you staying in Hawaii?

My FH and I will be spending 10K on our honeymoon. It was more than I ever thought we would spend on our honeymoon, but my FH wanted to do something special so what started out as spending a week in Mexico turned into 14 days in Spain, France & Italy. The highlights for me will be visiting, Cannes, Monoco, St. Tropez, Nice, Pisa, Florence &

Rome. I've already been to Barcelona & Madrid, but I am extra excited to be going again with my FH. I am sure that this trip to Europe will be much more expensive then my last trip, which was back in 2000 right before they adapted the Euro. Our dollar was also much stronger.

i've spent $5000 and counting on our honeymoon. that's flights, tour and accomodations.

we're going to turkey and doing an 7 day tour around the country. then hanging out in istanbul for 3 days before flying to the beachy part of turkey and hanging out at a resort for relaxation and 'us' time for another 5 days.

we wanted to make it to greece but that would have seriously upped the cost so we're doing only turkey

i normally don't spend this much on travel and i've traveled a good amount(thailand, australia, bahamas, hawaii, mexico) but it's our honeymoon so i'm not as concerned about the cost. that and we're going to try to get pregnant as soon as we can so it'll be our last good big far trip before we're restricted with kids.

i'm a huge fan of travel, seeing the world and experiencing other cultures is always worth the cost, esp doing it with your hunny celebrating your marriage.

Hi! We're headed to Costa Rica for 2 weeks after our wedding in Mexico and right now, we're probably at about $8000 for 2 weeks hotel, transfers, car, food and some excursions. We are using points for one hotel, so that helps, but I did choose more of the "luxurious" hotels/rooms since it's our honeymoon. My FI is more interested in the honeymoon anyway, so it's an easy sell, at least!

I say this is one of the most important trips you and your FI will ever take - so do it up if you can!

We are getting married in Jamaica in the Riu Palace Tropical Bay near Negril and chose to stay there in Jamaica, but switch resorts for our Honeymoon to Sandals Ochos Rios, which is about 2 hours up and away.Right now Sandals has some great deals....along with resorts in general. We got a package special buy 5 nights/ get 2 nights free with a honeymoon ocean villa with butler and private pool with all inclusive package, transfers and air for $3,200.00 for the both of us.

Just search the different hotel sites of your destination for upcomming booking deals. With the economy as it is.... they ARE out there. You just have to search around a bit.

Also, keep in mind that you could set up a registry on a resort site of your choice or through a TA for guests, etc.... to contribute monetary gifts towards your trip. Most people don't see this as impropper because they are going to give you a gift anyways, so why not put it towards you honeymoon?

Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
