thanks petals.

when you sent your documents over did you send your real licenses or copies? i know the birth certificates have to be real or certified copies but what about the licenses? i did read that you should not expect to get anything you send back.

thanks, Dana

(Frustrating, since I sent out meal choices on our RSVPs, and I had menus printed!)

And we sent Jascynthia our birth certificates & drivers licenses 30 days beforehand.
Petals,

For the menu choices, how does it work? Does she need the items for each guests or do you create the menu and your guests order the night of the wedding??

Thanks!!!

I sent copies of our IDs and certified copies of the birth certificates.

I just gave her the total numbers for each entree (i.e. 16 steak and 31 lobster- which they're no longer serving). I'm not sure how you indicate that to the servers the night of the wedding but maybe the previous GPJ brides can answer?

We just got married on April 24 at the GP! Was beautiful! We didn't get a few things in the wedding package, and I was a little bummed, but got over it. They decorated our room with flower petals and champagne the night of the wedding, but delivered the fruit basket to the room next to us sad.gif sad.gif Didn't find that out til we were leaving sad.gif

Question for anyone that married at the GP...did you get your official marriage certificate yet? I heard it could take up to 6 weeks, but wondered if anyone has received theirs?

Thanks!!!

Congratulations julie! i hope you have pictures that you will share. Did you use your own photographer or the hotel one? I'm stuck with the hotel one and was hoping to hear that they are not as horrible as their website has led me to believe. Also can you tell us some of the other details like reception location, menu, how you did music, etc. thanks!

Petals- did you send the documents directly to Jascynthia at the hotel address? Do you have the address you sent it to? Otherwise I'm going to have to get the address of the website because I still haven't hear back from Jascynthia about what to send and where and we are getting close the the one month mark. I'm starting to get very nervous about it all because of the lack of communication. thanks for all you helpful info!

Thanks!

And congrats, Julie! We can't wait to see pics! pinkie.gif

If any of the previous GPJ brides could share a pic of their reception setup, I'd be grateful!

Yep, I sent them directly to the hotel address, to her attention: Resort Contacts

Good luck with hearing back from her.
I get married there in 9 days and I'm having a hard time getting in touch with her. I spoke to her assistant yesterday (this is good news), who promised to get back to me with some answers, but nothing yet. We're about a week out and I still don't know which alternate meal we're serving our guests (in lieu of lobster).....

Hey Everyone

I just got a preview slide show of our wedding pics from our photographer! Turn up the volume!

Traci and Kevin

Hope this will answer some questions. The last few pics are the Zuriekalama(however you spell it) show

As for place settings as you see, we put a sticker of a lobster or cow for menu choices.

Our set up was in the blue lagoon, there is plenty of space for dancing/ entertainment. The set up us in the middle due to our group size so the entire "cloverleaf" overlooking the pool/ocean was open.

Petals....I can't find a downloadable pic of our set up. I'll post if someone sends me one

As for sending documents, I sent by certified US mail in July 2008 and they never did receive them.....I suggest take additional copies with you just in case!

Jascynthia......well, I will say she is extremely busy and until that other assistant starts, I'm afraid responses are going to be null and void. There are several Mexico weddings that are last minute transfers to the GP!

Don't stress out. We had multiple unanswered questions when we arrived, we met with her for about an hour and everything was taken care of! It will all fall into place.

Julie...We never received the fruit basket or additional bottle of champagne that we were promised, but I figured thats minute and we could go to the bar or buffet. It was irritating though. As for the marriage certificate, Jascynthia told us 6-8 weeks.

Hope this helps, I'll be happy to answer any other questions

Traci

Traci-- your pictures are beautiful!!! Thank you so much for sharing!

The show actually looks like a lot of fun. We're still trying to finalize our entertainment so that's back on the table.

Good to know about bringing the extra copies...

Thanks again!

Thanks Petals, you have been a big help. My father actually spoke with Jascynthia's assistant today and she said to him that we could choose the menu when we got there, so this may help you out. Good luck with everything next week and try not to stress, it sounds like everything falls into place once you are there.

We have also been told twice now that we wouldn't have to pay to have the Blue Lagoon, which I don't believe, but we will try and hold them to that and see what happens, If not Posieden here we come!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
