I cannot picture how the dj and tables will be set up in this location.
We have about 50 guest, so I hope this area will work.
It's actually a little bigger than that-- it's L shaped so keep that in mind too. Im sure it will accommodate 50 guests.

NO FREE UPGRADES!!!!!!!!!!!! I have asked more than one person at the GP and my TA who interacts with them frequently......You would think they would do something for bringing business to them!wtf.gif

I decided not to bring centerpieces and leave the decor up to the resort......and I refuse to pay the exuberant amount charged by the flower people. I figured what will be, will be. I leave on Monday, wed on Sat, be back tues may 5th. Not sure if we are taking the laptop, but I will definitely post other details when we return if we don't.

Panda....our wedding scheduled for sunset as well, but I was told the absolute latest time was 5:30, but they really want to stick to 5pm so we will see how it goes

As for the photographer, I am still bringing my own....it is my understanding you may as long as the photographer is not from a Jamaica location.

How about the Hijacker?

I've seen that Grand Palladium properties offer a free upgrade for honeymooners, based on availability, but I don't know if anybody has ever gotten them to honor that... or if it's just other GP's & not the JA locationhuh.gif
See the little honeymoon box here: Grand Palladium Kantenah Resort & Spa. Wedding & Honeymoons. Fiesta Hotel Group.

I'm not planning on doing the centerpieces either. Jascynthia said that they have votive candles in glass holders set up at each table, so I may bring some flower petals to sprinkle on the tabletop but that's it-- don't know how long they would stay put since Blue Lagoon is pretty open.

They told me 5pm was the last slot when I booked too, but that was before Jascynthia came on so that may have changed.

That's true-- I was told the same thing. They have a contract with a local photographer, but they allow you to bring your own with you from overseas if you wish.

Your day is coming up soon! We can't wait for pics!!

I know, time really is flying!! Can't believe it got here so fast. People keep asking if I'm "nervous yet"-- I'm not nervous, I'm excited! Monica is excited too- we're all flying down together.

Hmm...what do I still have left.... finishing up my last Vistaprint order (free rack cards for programs, free flat invitations for menus, free oversized postcards for welcome letter, etc.) Don't know if I'm going to get around to OOT bags, but definitely a welcome letter and Jamaican rum cake favors.

What about you? Are you bringing any extra decorations?

I haven't heard back from Jascynthia from my last e-mail a few weeks ago. I figure I'll have to call her with any other questions.... hoping that she has received my documents- sent via 3-5 day service...

I made a generic ceremony program, and haven't been able to respond to the guest who asked what the vegetarian entree is.... oh well....

Are you doing floral centerpieces from Tai Flora?

Hi Petals!!

I'm so excited for you!! Less then 1 month to go!!

Just a quick question for you regarding your seating plan. Do you know how many tables you are having and how many at each table? It's hard to tell how many ppl will fit in the blue lagoon from the pics. I have about 56 booked so far!

Thanks!!!

Hi Petals - I feel like I have so much to do!!! I still have not heard back from Jascynthia!! I did find out the officiants name is Rev. Paul Gallimore, Officiant and the steele drum band's name is Mackaâ€s Band.

I'm not sure what I'm doing for centerpieces becasue I haven't gotten a price from Tai Flora yet.......I think your idea of flower petals with the candles that will be on the table sounds like a good idea, I might be doing that too!! I just wanted to find out from Jascynthia what exactly they provide on the tables and how they are set up.

So excited! Only 23 days left! I still haven't decided on my seating plan yet, but don't worry about your group fitting into the Blue Lagoon- it's huge.

In this picture, basically those front 3 sections are all Blue Lagoon and the other parts belong to the Italian restaurant and the Indian restaurant. Upstairs is the Infinity Lounge. The Blue Lagoon is used for buffet breakfast and lunch and typically closed for dinner.

Set up for breakfast, each table seats 4.

Thanks for the update on the Officiant's name!

When I spoke to Jascynthia, maybe about a month ago, she told me their standard decor is white linens, and small votive candles in glass holders on each table.

The view of the pool and the ocean and the sunset are so nice, I decided I wasn't going to put too much effort into prettying up the tables beyond that. If not flower petals sprinkled on the tables, I may just get a bag of those decorative glass stones in our wedding colors to spread around the votives instead.

Inspiration pic for the petals...

She also told me that she would set up the tables however you decide. It's completely flexible. I don't know if I want to do a big U-shape or what yet.... we have about 55 guests coming.

Oh! And I was going to do the steel drum band for the reception, but I found out they are performing on the main stage the night before the wedding, so I thought it would be redundant to see them two nights in a row. I think we're just going to go with the DJ instead.... What are you doing for entertainment?

Petals - What day do you arrive in Jamaica? We get there on the 21st!! I am so excited I will get to see your wedding!!!!!!!

I'm glad to know we can set the tables up how we want becasue I really like the big square look, so everyone is together, I hope it works!!

For entertainment we are doing the steele drum band at the ceremony and we haven't decided for the reception.......either the dj or an ipod reception.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
