HELP Grand Palladium Brides!!!!

Hi Ladies, I've finally received a reply from Jascynthia...here is her response in blue:

The Tropical package includes chair covers for the ceremony. Those are the menus you are able to choose from with the tropical package (Posiedon & Pastafarian). You are renting the private venue only (not another dinner option). The other menus comes with the Caribbean package.

I am sure we can add some other option to your entrée. We will need to know how many of each option you would require. Before I can do anything, I need to know which menu you are choosing so that I can let the chef tell me your options.

The chef has advised that it will cost USd30.00 per person for lobster and he will need to let me know later about beef madalions. (Ladies this is in addition to the already $30 pp charge)[/COLOR]

Sorry, I am trying to get through the emails so I do not have time, right now, to be on the forum. I had nearly two weeks of no emails coming in or going out (only sporadically) and now that the system is back, some days were not recovered, it is jam packed and everyone needs an answer right now. So as soon as I can I will join because based on the fact that I am being asked the same questions by everyone, in different ways, I assume they are all on this forum and there is a lot of misinterpretation going on.

Hope this helps. Petals I know you will be happy about the chair covers ~ I know I am. As for the menus they aren't much to choose from but I'm not stressing over it anymore. At least we can choose 2 entrees.

Good luck ladies...only 16 more sleeps till we leave and 19 more sleeps till I'm Mrs. love.gif

Hi: We just got back from the Grand Palladium on Jan 11th. We were married there on January 7th and can assure you it was AMAZING!!! I could not have asked for anything better. We had it on the beach which was blocked off so spectacters were not in the pictures, we purchased the Tropical Package, had dinner at the Blue Lagoon and had dancing there as well. We chose the Italian restaurant which was salad/scallops, soup, stuffed chicken breast/lobster ravioli and wedding cake. The food was the BEST we had all week. EVERYONE LOVED it and many went back to the Italian looking for the same meal. I'm happy to answer any questions I can for you, just ask or email : janetharrison@hotmail.com. There were computer problems because I did have to go through everything again with Jascynthia but I assure you she was incredible and the day went flawless!!! Hope that helps

PS I can email pics if anyone wants to see the set up

Welcome Janet! This is great to hear! If you have time, we would love a wedding review & pics! So far we've only had 1 Grand Palladium Jamaica bride on our board!

What did you do for music at your reception?

I have a question if anyone can answer, please do. I understand the package price, the additional per person price, and the fee to have a private reception. My question is do you have to pay any more for the reception dinner because I am under the impression that the additional per person price is just to cover the ceremony portion, correct me if I am wrong.

Hey everyone: I know it can be nerve racking planning a wedding so far away but relax - everything will be wonderful. We arrived at Grand Palladium Jan 3 and on check in we recieved a letter from Jascynthia to meet her in the lobby on Monday at 11 am. We did and it took a total of 1 hour to have everything in order. It was extremely easy and she is amazing to deal with. We chose the tropical package with the private reception so let me give you a break down of our expenses:

Tropical package : $1600

Dinner (8 free included in package but we had to pay for an 32people@$30): $960

Flowers (2 bridemaids, 2 groomsman, 2 fathers, 3 mothers): $350

Private venue: $500 (we had it reserved from 6-11pm @ $100/hr)

DJ (7:30 - 11Pm): $1050

We had the ceremony on the beach and it was amazing. It was blocked off so the people on the beach could see but not come over and honestly there are no random people in any of our ceremony pictures which was fantastic. The wedding was at 3 and dinner was starting at 6 in the Blue Lagoon. We chose the Italian restaurant (which was included in the per person price). For dinner we had salad with scallops, soup, stuffed chicken breast with lobster ravioli and wedding cake for dessert. The meal was sooooo good that many of our 40 guests went back to the Italian to have it again. Everyone loved, loved, loved the food. We had speakers and microphone for the dinner and we just brought CDs with us for dinner music and made speeches in between courses. The service was incredible. I think every table had their own server and they did not wait for everything. Dinner's were served at the same time to everyone and I could not be happier about the whole meal. We had also reserved the blue lagoon for dancing with DJ until the disco opened and then we moved in there but it worked out amazing as they set up one part for dinner and then we moved into the other part for dancing and their were tables/chairs set up in that section as well. The entire day was absolutely perfect!!!!! We had 40 people and not one complaint the whole week. Everyone loved the resort, food, staff, accommodations etc. I would not have changed one thing about chosing this resort and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone else!!!!!! I`ll answer any questions, feel free to ask

Hello,

Thanks for the great review!! I was wondering if you could email me your pics of the Blue lagoon and ceremony site. I'm so glad we can just pay for the tropical package and pay $30 pp. Were the chair covers included in that price? How was the DJ? Did he play good oldies that you can dance to? Could you make up a list of songs for him? I'm still debating on the dj vs. ipod with speaker set up.

One more question...Did you happen to see the set up at the gazebo location? I am nervous that it will be too tight for all my guests (75 people). What do you think?

Thanks!

Jackie

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
