Anyone having less than 30-35 people?  What are your plans?  I am hesitant about having a private reception.

I was expecting 45-50.  So now Im thinking if its worth it.  And wonder if it will be boring.

We had 32 people at our reception. It was the best reception I have ever been to! All of the guests raved about it. Steel drum first hour. Fire show second hour. Dj for the rest of the reception. If you have entrainment, the private reception is worth it. If you are just having dinner, I would not spend the extra money for the private reception. Remember, you are only doing this once. Make it great!!!

first off congratssmile159.gif and I am planing on having my wedding at the GP also I'm just having a problem getting all the pricing right. I am also looking to have around about the same amount of guest as you are, and was wondering what package are you going to go with and did you get the pricing on the reception if you are going to have one? Also can you let me know any more helpful info you have found out through contacting with them? Please Helphuh.gif

Not exactly sure who you were asking, but here's what I'm doing...

We will be having b/w 40-50 people.  We decided on the Waves of Love Package and I'm so excited about it!  The price on the website includes everything listed for 8 people.  Additional is $20/pp (includes the extra setup, champagne, cake, etc.).  If you want a private receptions it's $45/pp (4 course meal w/full bar).

Best way to contact is through email.  They take a couple days to respond, mostly due to when your wedding is.  The closer it is, the quicker response.  Island time mon!

Hi everyone. Thanks for all the great information. I have always wanted a destination wedding and when I got engage two years ago we started planning one. However, my mother through a fit and I of course gave in and decided to have the traditional wedding here in NJ.  Well, now that I'm 8 months away from my wedding, my FI and I have decided to cancel our "traditional" wedding here and are doing our dream wedding in Jamaica. We are paying for our wedding and feel that it should be about our wants and not anyone elses. My mothers not speaking to me, but thats a whole other story I'm not going to get into here...So, booked my wedding at GPJ on 11/4/11. Our original wedding date was 11/11/11 but seeing as we're booking so late we cant get that.  The only availabe times they had on 11/4/11 were 10am and 12pm. We booked the 12pm. Does anyone have any experience with an afternoon wedding?? Besides it being unbearably hot, will it be weird to have a cocktail hour afterwards at 1??? And then the reception to follow? I just feel like it will be a lunch reception.  I guess we can always go out to the disco afterwards...any thoughts?? thanks so much!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
