I am getting married at Sandos Playacar Riveria. but i really really wanted to get married at GP but they are booked for April and May of 2011.  Were you dealing with Rocio as your WC?

I always wondered about her, she was hard to contact, I would still change over to the GP is I could, I asked Rocio to let me know if there was a cancellation for may 5 or 6......

They say they only do one wedding a day??/

Humm, we wanted to have our ceremony at 2pm but they said it was already booked, so we were forced to do it at 12pm since we thought 4pm would be a little too close to evening for pictures.  We were a little cross with our travel agent since she told us that there was no rush to book the wedding back in November 2009.

So with those numbers I think they do at least 3 a day.

Hmmm, very interesting.  I wonder why she specifically said only one wedding per day.

I grow more worrisome everyday............are all our emails for NOT.huh.gif

I looking at Sandos, but am still pursuing Secrets Maroma in Riveria, only thing holding me back is my guests cant afford it.......

Hmmm, what to do, what to do??

I worry that even though our dates are booked, I wonder what happens when you get there.......

Maybe I should stop reading all the horror stories............and have FAITH....

I will even get different answers from the same email, but they sent is twice with two different answers...........

I am a lil skeptical right now.............sorry ladies..........BAD DAY censored.gif

@ nemmerz ~ I think MsWhatever said something very important for everyone to remember: The resort "wedding coordinators" are actually just organizers.  If you want your day to run smoothly and your way, then you need to manage the resort, detail your thoughts/ideas, and designate (or bring) your own wedding coordinators.   Keep note of what worked for some brides and what didn't for others.  Good luck and have faith.

Well... i've been reading this blog from start to finish for two days, put in tons of hours... had a few panic attacks but think i am okay now.

I was switched wedding coordinators from Kimberly to this new lady - which was quite frustrating as Kimberly seemed way more willing to work with me.

I"m slightly frustrated cause we planned our wedding with them 10 months ago and requested my sister was given a honeymoon upgrade as this was doubling as her honeymoon - and now they said they are full.

My wedding in on Jan 24th 2011. 60ish days away and i'm starting to panic. This blog helped alot as there is TONS of things i apparently didn't think of, so i have offically sent off a list of 22 questions for my coordinator.

We are having a beach sunset ceremony at 4pm - then apparently have our "private reception" 6-10. Does anyone know if it is too dark after the ceremony to take pictures? My fiance doesn' t want to see me before we are married so doing photos first isn't really an option.

What did people put in their out of town welcome bags? This whole concept is new to me and i didn't plan for it so now need some direction.

Did anyone do their ceremony in barefeet on the beach or are shoes recommended?

What did you get your hubbys to wear and groomsmen? It looks as if everyone is in pants which is dress code for supper.

We are thinking of just using out ipod dock speakers and doing that during supper - hopefully that will work - then we can go out and party wherever else the rest of the night I'm really hoping everythings great!love.gif

I would ask them again when you get there. Things change daily in there bookings. Something might just open up.

You should have lots of sun for pictures after the ceremony.

It's really whatever you wantI put a beach kit, mini first aid kit, cup, snacks, welcome letter, disposable camera, door knob note kit. Your guest have no expectations of this. Anything you do, they will be surprised.

Most say it works out just fine. I would suggest assigning someone Ipod duty if you do. You do not want to spend your reception messing with it. I considered the ipod idea, but in the end I got the DJ.

Happy planning! I hope you have the best wedding ever!!!!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
