Here is what Nina sent me:

"The floor plan for your group really depends on the size of the group and your preferred seating plan. We can use either round tables (8 persons per table) or square tables (seating 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 or even 12), we can have a “U†shape or a “T†shape."

I did the "U" shaped seating plan. You can put up to 9 people at the head table. Here is my seating chart:

And what it looked like at the reception.

MsWhatever...thanks for all the info. You have been such a huge help! Everything turned out beautiful for you. It's definitely reassuring, as I'm getting really stressed about how this all is going to turn out.

They really did an awesome job. I gave Nina all my stuff and instructions for how I wanted it. It was perfect! It was awesome. She tagged everything and took notes. Here is some of my stuff that she placed on each place setting.

I did not ship anything. I was worried about it getting stuck in customs. I did not want the added stress. smile35.gif

I had a 2 tier wedding cake and a grooms cake. They DID NOT charge me any extra for either cake. I would question them about that again! Your per person fee is suppose to cover the cake and champagne. They even added my decorations to the cakes.  Here is some pics. The sand is crushed graham crackers.

amount of people that will attend a two tiered cake is an extra $50.00 a tier.. Because I didnt like any of the cake photos I sent a photo to Nina and she promised to let me know what they can do to get as close to my photo as possible, I also presented an option B for a plain two tired  ivory colored cake and I would just bring the cake decor with me.

I don't think I'm going to have a cake, because I'm really not happy with what they're providing, plus it usually doesn't get eaten. I really want to have a candy bar, but was worried about transporting some of the glass candy jars. Does it seem pretty straightforward to ship to the resort through Fedex? Do you know what the costs are like? I'm also thinking of shipping some lanterns from Ikea for my centrepieces, but don't want the shipping expenses to get out of hand! Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated. All the best with your wedding! You must be so excited. Right around the corner. :)

Oh yes! It was so frustrating. They do not seem to get in a hurry for anything in Jamaica. I just kept emailing until she would answer. As your date gets closer, their response time will get better. Good luck!

First off I want to say thankyou to all the married brides who still take the time to answer all the questions of us soon to be brides and to the other future brides who share the information they have gathered - big group hug grouphug.gif

Did anyone do a sand ceremony? If so where do they do that in the ceremony? And as far as signing the papers do you do that and then they announce you man and wife? Or do they announce you man and wife and then have you sign?

Also who did a cake at cermony site? I see pictures of some people saying the cake the cake for the reception but then I see couples who had the cake and champage at the ceremony...just curious how that works if you were planning on having the cocktail hour after with drinks and appetizers?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
