I'm in the process of writing a review and putting pics together but here's some teasers for you

Really, the wedding and whole day was beautiful. My ceremony was on the beach and we had the cocktail hour out there - totally worth the extra money - the food was fantastic - everyone raved about it.

Here's my set up

Ms Whatever - I used the picture you showed me to send to Tai Flora for my bouquet - I loved it and it lasted the whole week we were there.

I had specifically asked for a nonreligious ceremony - Phyllicia told me they only do nonreligious ceremonies - imagine our surprise when the officant started mentioning Jesus - I was raised Jewish and Jim is an athiest so that was a bit shocking - i had to stop him during the ring exchange - make sure you tell the coordinators everything 3 times - I think Nina is much more on the ball than Phyllicia.

The Gazebo is also beautiful - on a cliff overlooking the water - they have golf carts that will take you and your guests - definitely set your hair/make up appts for 3 hours before the wedding - and bring your own makeup - i told her I liked dark eyeliner and she didn't even have black - I was very happy I brought my own - plus my own waterproof mascara.

I don't have any pics of the reception yet it was at the Poseidon, and it was NOT private, and I THOUGHT it was - Phyllicia was not clear - make sure you check this out - they wanted to charge us a lot of extra money to do this at the last minute - we chose not to and still had a great time - we had a whole section of the restaurant to ourselves with no disturbances from other guests.

All in all - the best day of my life - our life - would do it again in a second.

Sigh

It was the Caribbean package - 2000 + 50pp

She said we'd have to pay 45pp extra to have it private.

My parents offered to pay it so we could have it but we decided to let it go.

it ended up being nice - just not dancing as i'd envisioned originally.

Hi everyone!

My name is Christina and my fiance and I are getting married October 2nd! I have a couple questions that hopefully someone will be able to answer... Phylicia told me that if I have a party over 20 attending the wedding then the dinner must be reserved at one of the 'secluded' locations (Blue Lagoon or the Poseidon) Has anyone else heard this. I'm having a party of 20-25 attend but I'm not sure if I want to have a reception. The dj is out of our budget and I feel it pointless to pay for speaker/microphone. My wedding is at noon and I need to reserve the spa what time would someone reccomend? Are there any brides getting married in October?

Thanks all and I'm glad to have joined!

I would reccommend getting your hair done 3-4 hours in advance, depending on if you are going to take pictures getting ready and before the ceremony. My hair appt was at 12:30 for a 4pm ceremony - I had my FI to be ready by 3ish - one of the photographers took pics with him while the other was with me - then they took pictures of us together before the ceremony, including a "reveal" moment. I was actually rushing to get from the spa to my room to get dressed - my dress took a bit of work to get tied into.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
