I am also wondering if you minded putting together a list of questions you think we should definitely remember to ask Landy (i.e the week before during the over the phone conversation, and once there in person)?

Thanks again for such a great review.

Oh, and one more thing. You mentioned that fire dancers were part of the entertainment during the week. Did you think it was okay having them for the reception even though they had performed during the week?

I asked Landy about everything and anything I could imagine! Just be prepared for her to tell you she will have to get back to you on the prices. And in my case, I left several days later so I didn't get them until I arrived.
My DH and I wanted to have a "casino night" for after our welcome dinner and asked about that. She hadn't done something like that before so she had to get back to me on the price. I asked about renting lounge furniture, fire dancers, menu for the welcome dinner, asked if she could arrange to show the NFL games on Thanksgiving day (they did that at no cost).
Geez, I asked about everything but most of the things she didn't have prices for.

As for the fire dancers, they performed on Wednesday the week I was there. Half of my guests arrived on Thursday so they didn't get a chance to see the show. Most of the guests who arrived earlier didn't get to see the show either because we had late dinners and usually didn't make it out of the restaurants until after the shows were over. So I'm glad we hired them as part of our wedding!

For those of you wanting more pics from the resort photographer let me work on it! Don't get too discouraged by my review. But also don't get too discouraged if the photog doesn't do the creative, artistic pictures we've all seen and love on this forum. i.e Del Sol, Jean-Marcus etc etc.
Their photog is just like if you had a friend take all your pictures. They don't edit them, don't add or delete colors. Its just the same picture your dad probably took. Also, he would snap, snap, snap away without caring if our eyes were closed, if one of us was looking in the wrong direction.
For example, I really wanted a family picture . There are 10 of us and in the picture half of us aren't looking at the camera, my moms eyes are closed and the photog only took one. Soooo, I have no family picture! Just things like that. If you hire the resort photog, my suggestion is to stay on him! And tell him what pictures are important to you and that you are willing to have to shoot 2,3 or 4 takes of the same pose until you got it right. If not, he will just shoot, shoot, shoot without knowing if they are good. ALSO TO CONSIDER, they have several photographers at the resort so there is no guarantee which one will shoot your wedding. Maybe some are better than others? It may not be the guy who shot my pictures (who by the way kept calling me the wrong name all night!).

Thanks again for your fabulous and very honest review- This had some great information and we all appreciate it.

Would you mind giving me details about how much your fire dancers were? that looks so much fun!

And did the WC coordinate them performing at your wedding?

Yes, that is a good point. Some of the brides have been happy with the photographer's work, so maybe there is one that is better than the other.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
