I just want to get some opinions as to whether this would be confusing for STDs.

We're getting married in February 2010 but because it's so far in advance we can't book a location yet. Our TA said that we should be able to book in March or April. That being said we want to send out our STDs in January just to give people a head's up about saving money. We're inviting 150+ people and we expect that around 50-75 will come so we don't want to spend all of time clarifying things if we confuse people!

We want to get married in Punta Cana but because we're going to be going during a high time and we still want to keep the price for our guests down we may have to choose Cuba insead (Cayo Santa Maria). We're doing boarding pass save the dates so would it be really confusing if we put under destination: "Dominican Republic/Cuba"? Or is there a better way to state this? We will put that details will follow. Also, since we don't know the exact date of the wedding (we know that it will be the third week of February) do we just put February 2010? Or should we give an arbitrary date?

I want to let the person who is making our wedding stationary know this weekend, plus I'm just excited to finally get to do something for the wedding!

BTW if there are any other Ottawa brides looking for someone to make stationary PM me, the woman we are going with is awesome and her prices are really good. I wish that I would have the time or supplies to make my stuff myself but she's a great alternative!

If you send out the STDs this early and don't know all the details, I would just leave it as having a destination wedding, somewhere tropical in February 2010...details to follow. Just to let people know. That way you don't have to go back and say Punta Cana instead of Cuba and February 10th instead of 12th, or whatever the case may be.

In addition to Kayte's comment...you could send out an announcement (ie, we are planning on having a DW sometime in Feb. 2010. We wanted to give everyone the heads up so you can start saving now!!! More details will be sent when we have made our decision). That could just be a postcard type thing (vistaprint has great deals). Then you can save your boarding pass STDs for when you have all the details.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
