Do you ever regret going cheap on the OOT bags themselves?

Recommended Posts

OMG, I cannot make a decision for the life of me! I'm looking at all the options for tote bags. I am wondering if you went cheap, were you satisfied with them or do you wish that you would have went with something a little bit more expensive?

Thanks for the help!

i bought really cheap oriental trading bags. they were very lightweight & packed up small. they did the job too.

I'm happy i went cheap. i use the leftovers pretty often & they hold up nicely.

it would have been nice if they were large enough to make good shopping bags afterwards.

I think I spent more on the screenprinting than I did on the bags, and the cheap bags were just fine. I got them from cheaptotes.com

Also consider what logo/design you are putting on them. Only a few special people will carry a bag around in real life that says "mike & sally" (if they aren't Mike or Sally) but more people will use a bag post-wedding that is more generic or that doesn't have other people's names on them.

In the end I say save where you can because everyone won't be using the bags after vacation.

I am glad that I went cheap. I also got my bags from cheaptotes and was very happy with them. I also agree with Starchild in that some people are unlikely to use the bags again & again, especially if they have your personalized logo/monogram. So since I used a monogram, my thoughts were why spend so much $ on a higher quality bag that most people are unlikely to re-use!

I made my OOT bags myself, which was a fun but time consuming project. If I had to redo it, I am not sure I would bother. I def wouldn't have wasted so much time, money and space on the cheap fillers though. No one used anything that I put in there, except the kids used their buckets. No one used the big mugs or any of the other stuff. I wish I had not done them at all, or just made bags for them and that's it.

I did cheap bags too, natural color canvas, about $1.59 each. I am glad because people dont use totes that are monogramed usually after the wedding, well maybe parents would...but most wouldnt. I think it is just a vehicle to give the other gifts. The only regret I have is that we are ironing on our monogram, and it isnt the best to do that on canvas. Some turn out well, some seem not set all the way, and some seem a little burned under the monogram. But again, its just a way to give the gifts. I have seen some people do personalized paper bags, which is actually really cute too. So no, I don't have regrets either.

I did cheap bags, and I wish I would have spent a little more on them. We got bags from the dollar store. We didn't think people would use them. But a ton of our guests used the bags all week long, so I would have bought a little nicer of a bag had I know people would use them so much.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
