Interesting that you should ask since I hadn't thought of this at all. While I have included the kids in my attendee number, I haven't planned for them to sit at a different table. Nor have I arranged for a different meal.

Irecently saw candy centerpieces for the kid's table that was cute. A cookie bouquet would be cute as well. It may not be necessary to do anything special either. How about coloring activities instead of menu cards. Etc.

It seems like I covered everything but totall dropped the ball when it came to the kids. Keep me posted with your findings and I will do the same.

I'm not sure about this either, I have 2 newborns coming and I'm not counting them in my numbers. Isn't that right? Also then I only have 1-2 kids so I just put them at there parents table and they can figure somthing out to do. I'm not going to worry about it. You have 10 kids coming I would maybe plan something then for them? I think the coloring books would be a good idea, and I also like the candy idea!

I think it was Rebecca who told me (and sent me her excel budget spreadsheet) that kids are $10. That is per set-up. So for the ceremony and the reception set up it is $20 total. You pay half for kids than what you do for adults. However, I don't know who is considered a child. Under 12 maybe? I'm sure you can set them up separately I don't see why that would be a problem.

I will have a LOT of kids at my wedding (I have 15 nieces & nephews). Dreams is charging us half price - $10 for reception & $11 for ceremony/cocktail hr. I'm leaving it up to my sisters / brothers in terms of which events they want to include their kids & which kids get a seat at the table. I think the young ones will not come to the rehearsal dinner (at Portofino) but all will come to the wedding. We most likely won't have seats for those age 3 & under since they will be lap kids or will be running around so much and won't sit during the entire meal.

I have to ask Mariana about including kid meals - good idea!

There are some cute coloring books / activity books on this link (so sorry, I can't remember who posted this but it's a great resource - Wedding Planning )

I also just bought some plastic shovels & sand toys that I am putting in the OOT bags for those bringing kids. I found them for $1-2 each at Michaels - really cute too!!

update on this question - here is Marianas response:

Kids: we surely can have a special menu for them; usually we prepare something like pasta, salad and nuggets but we can also have the hot dogs if you want. The price for children between 2 and 12 years pay half of the price, so $11.00 us.

THANKS LADIES!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
