I am getting married at Sandals Dunns River on May 12th. I would love to chat with you about what type of reception you are having etc. I am also getting pictures from a bride that got married there last month. I can pass them on when I get them if you would like.

Kori~

We are just doing the reception that is in the basic weddingmoon. Its only us and my parents going so we figured it would be okay, based on some of the things ive heard its very very basic which was fine, we just wanted something simple-kwim. The only thing we did upgrade was the picture package only because i wanted a few professional pictures and since its just the 4 of us i know my parents wouldnt be able to get all the different pics i wanted. I thought about upgrading the flowers but i decided against it because they probably wouldnt make it through the trip home. We are going to do the sand ceremony and when i called the wedding department they said all of the specifics of the ceremony would be discussed when we got there. Its getting close now im down to less than 2 weeks it really hasnt set in yet, still soo many things going through my mind. I would love to see the pics from another wedding there!! My email address is carissahoffmann@yahoo.com If you had any more questions its great to be able to talk to someone who is going to the same resort. I will definately let you know every detail when i get back. We are going to be there the 19th-27th of April and we are getting married on April 21st.

I will definately send an email when I get the pictures. I know you must be so excited to be going in 2 weeks. I have about 5 weeks and my stomach is in my throat because I have all these loose ends to attend to. But I am excited. Please let me know if they let you decorate at the reception because I was thinking about bringing my own centerpieces.

I personally have not been to Sandals Whitehouse, however my sister and her husband were there opening week (pretty sweet, they got a free weekend stay out of the deal). At the time it wasn't completely finished, but what was there was beautiful. She did comment on the noseeums though. Lots of beach bugs.

  • 5 years later...

We got engaged at Sandals Whitehouse in March (private candlelit dinner on the beach). We would be getting married there, but we will be having kids in our wedding so we are getting married in Montego Bay at Iberostar. We LOVED Whitehouse, it really is beautiful and you have lots of options- you can do as little or as much as you want. It is about an hour an a half from the airport, which may not be ideal for some wedding guests to travel that far, but we didn't mind a bit. The drive gave a chance to see a lot more of the island. We saw a couple weddings in passing when we we were there, but they weren't big- just a bride and groom and a witness or two right on the beach (not private at all). I know they have different locations that didn't see any other weddings so can't be much help in that department, but I know we want to go back someday-we loved it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
