Diamond White vs. White-White

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies!

Since I had less than 3 months to plan this wedding, I had to buy a dress off the rack. The one I fell in love with (and already purchased) happens to be a Maggie Sottero in Diamond White.

Does anyone else have a Diamond White dress? Is my dress going to look funny against FH's white linen?

I wouldn't have given it a second thought, but I've had a few comments from some people at home, and they're freaking me out!

Holding them next to each other is the obvious way to see how it'll look.....except that I don't have my dress at home because it is being altered at the bridal shop, which is 40 miles away, so I don't really want to drive there just to see if the linen matches. I thought it would just be easier to ask you ladies :)

When I ordered my dress, which is an off-white, I asked the designer (who happened to be there for a trunk show) about clashing whites with the groom. I was worried about his white shirt and the designer stated that you are never going to be able to match whites perfectly, not to worry about it and that this should not be a concern. As another poster stated, they are all just different shades of the same color family. So, my half a cent is you'll be gorgeous and it won't look funny at all. Good luck!

I've got a Diamond White Maggie too.

White-white can actually be a very harsh "colour". It tends to be stark and kinda cold to the point of almost fluorescing. Diamond white is often recommended since it is softer and thus tends to compliment just about everyone's complexion!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
