Oh Nos! Coordinator delays at Dreams?

Recommended Posts

So I am super panicky - dates have opened up for reservations at Dreams at Los Cabos for January 2010...I have been in contact with Yesica (the coordinator for Dreams) for a couple of months...now we are ready to book, but it seems like everything is done by email!!!! This of course means days/weeks of waiting for a reply!!!

Has anyone else worked with her? How was your wedding there? Are the prices really what they say they are, or do they try to nickel and dime you? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

I am working with Yesica and I also booked our wedding date 14 mos out. I actually called her a few times until I finally got a hold of her to secure the date. I found it more reliable.

As for the rest of it, you can use the "search" tool in the top right hand corner of the forum page. There have been alot of brides who have had weddings at Dreams. Just look around for their wedding reviews, comments etc.

Mariana was my coordinator at Dreams and it does take several days for a response. In most cases, an immediate response is not necessary but in this case it may be more important to you. I would definately get on the phone and lock in your date. After that you have plenty of time so you eventually get used to the delay. It takes some getting used to, as I really get in the groove and want to make a bunch of decisions all at once and finalize everything immediately. It was hard for me to adjust but I eventually did and even toward the end, I knew my WC would respond when she could so I didn't let it stress me.

As far as nickle and diming, that was not my experience at all. Dreams was very accurate and charged me exactly what was quoted, if I caught a mistake they fixed it right away. I did not find any hidden fees, extra charges or suprises. I was thriled with the service we received from our WC and our experience at the resort. Good luck!

I also have Yesica as my wedding coordinator. I only waited about one week to confirm our date (and that was only 8 months before our date). Although we are getting married during the week as the Saturday was taken, but we don't care! Our guests and ourselves are there for the whole week anyways!

I find it does take a while for her to get back to me via email, but at this time nothing is really urgent anyway.

The only thing I have found is that Dreams may charge slightly more for things then external vendors. For example, to "upgrade" my bouquet at Dreams they told me $150.00 "with discount", however a external vendor has quoted the same bouquet for $95.00. Because of this I am doing MORE research into external vendors.

I too was wondering if they add extra costs once we get therehuh.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
