Hello all,

This may be an odd question but did anyone do a TTD session without thier spouse? I am pushing it by even getting an hour of the wedding day for photos out of my fiance, I can't see him agreeing to another day of photography. The TTD pictures are the ones I love looking at the most, and I would prefer him there but my photographer said she doesn't care if it is just me (that could also be because I told her I would do anythign she asked, no matter how ridiculous) and they look like so much fun adn such a unique part of a destination wedding.

my husband hates having his picture taken. i was going to TTD without him & he told me he would do it. i was really happy :)

before he agreed to do it, i had already made plans to trash with 2 friends. so I ended up trashing the dress 3 times. 1. with my husband the day before the wedding (it was a different dress). 2. The night of the wedding in the ocean. 3. the day after with 2 friends.

I told all my married friends they were welcome to bring their dresses (or any white dress) and trash them with me after the wedding. we had a lot of fun with it & i love the pictures.

I've seen girls trash the dress with their BMs too

There are no rules!!!

i did my TTD without my DH - there is no way in hell my DH would have ever gone for doing it with me, and if i somehow would've managed to con him into it, he would've been so unhappy the entire time and wouldnt have been very cooperative. unlike my DH, i love having my photo taken & am very willing to cooperate with a photographer. my dad used to be a professional photographer when i was growing up, so i am quite accustomed to being a photographer's guinea pig. i have so many wonderful photos of me growing up thanks to being my dad's little test model. doing my TTD alone was such a wonderful & pleasant experience. i really had fun with it and have some really beautiful bridal portraits to show for it. unfortunately i am still working on putting together a slideshow for you girls, but i have been really busy with work & havent had much time to dedicate to it. but here are a couple that i have uploaded into my photobucket account so you can see that you dont need a groom for beautiful TTD photos. i used a local photographer about 4 weeks after our wedding in cabo.

Not to hijack, but... Maura you are so freakin cute! lol I love your ttd pics.

As for the original question, I think you can totally do it without DH. FI and I are doing them together, but I'm pretty sure he has no idea what he's in for. muahahahahaha

I would say that when I first heard of TTD the only pics I found were of just Brides. I think most traditional wedding TTD sessions are only of the bride. (And this could just be my research..) But I love the pics without the groom just as much as with. I say go for it!!

ps. Maura your pics are delightful! cheesy.gif I love the one of you perched on a log.

I can't wait for TTD pics!! But I know, like you, that even an hour of pics is asking WAY too much of FI.....and I can not see him at all splashing around in the water or laying in the sand in a suite (god forbid he get dirty)

ANYWAY I'm going to rope him into it by saying that it is what I want for my wedding gift from him. It's worth a try!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
