Hmmm doesn't seem like getting any money off is as simple as I thought it was going to be...I might wait a while before trying - maybe she'll change her mind!?!?

Do you (or anyone) have any photos of ceremony locations? I think we have various options but I don't know what they are yet! Ideally we don't want to get married on the beach so does anyone know what other options we have?

Thanks girls smile72.gif

Hey girls!!

I think I made it sound too easy to get a discount. I looked back at all of our emails, and I think what helped me is that from the very first email I was telling her that I can not afford the packages she was offering. After the 8th email or so is when she offered the discount. lol I just wouldn't let down and I continued trying to cut things out of our package.

About the ceremony locations, Ana had sent me an email with all of the pictures of the ceremony spots. Ask her to email them to you. If she can't, give me your email address and I will forward it to you.

We are not getting married on the beach either. You have 2 other options... both are terrace's but the one we chose has a glass railing so where you and FH stand to get married and where everyone is facing is overlooking the beach, ocean and palm trees. Beautiful. The other one does not have much of a view because its not a glass railing.

Hope that helps! :)

"FH" I love that!! Hahaha. I am getting married on the beach, it's my dream, but I know they also offer an outdoor gazebo that looked really beautiful. It'll be my backup plan in case of rain!! *crosses fingers.

Even if I dont get money off my package I understand, but there's no shame in trying! I have chosen one of the lower costing packages anyways. We wont need to much spending money since it's all inclusive, a family member is buying us an excursion. :) Ana gave me $30 off my photo package right at the beginning which I appreciate, her help is worth millions! LOL! She eases my mind when I start getting grey hairs, haha.

Guess what? I AM SO EXCITED! 37 DAYS!! smile29.gif

Okay ladies, this is going to sound so, so low class, but I got a little tidbit from my travel agent….not sure if Iâ€m morally okay with it though. FI and I are going to OCT for our honeymoon from February 15-24, and our TA advised me that the more difficult a client you are, the more accommodating OCT is. He had said something about demanding an upgrade at time of c/I, and insisting upon because we are, in fact, a honeymoon couple. He said that if you do it this way, a great deal of the time they will just do it for free in an effort to appease you rather than booking into the higher room category.

We had planned in booking into a master suite, but the TA had already switched our reservations from the Barcelo, and had advised us to leave the reservation as is. Idk if I feel right about being bratty at check in because my TA didnâ€t want to move the reservation around….any thoughts?

Hi Brandy, hmmm good question. I guess if we were in your situation, I would ask myself how much I trust my TA. If I really trusted him/her that he knows what he's talking about and if it was possible to contact him once we were down there to deal with the issue for us, if it becomes an issue, then I would take his advice.
Having said that, this is our honeymoon and I'm not sure if it would be worth the hassle of demanding an upgrade at the resort. And what if the resort is fully booked by that time? Not sure if Feb. is a busy season but I wouldn't want to leave something like that last minute... wouldn't want any unnecessary stress to start off my honeymoon. Let us know what you decide to do!

Hmm, free upgrades are included for "wedding couples" upon availability. I spoke to Ana, the wedding planner, months ago about the security of our upgrade, and she said that it should be no problem, and don't worry about it. I didnt have to be "bratty" or anything. wink.gif

Our Travel Agent hasn't been as helpful as I had hoped with wedding stuff and Mexico contacts. So I have been doing pretty much all the Resort/wedding planning myself. I'm sure you'll get your room upgrade no problem!! Dont compromise your integrity, you're a nice person, I'm sure you'll get everything you deserve and more! Have a wonderful time!!

Hey Brandy,

I agree with the other girls - don't do what you're not comfortable with. You can ask for what you want but I wouldn't feel comfortable demanding loads of stuff...its just not me.

I would speak to Ana and state that you wanted the master suite but that your TA didnt switch the reservation and ask if she can do anything about it...maybe you'll get it from being nice and blaming it on your TA!!

Let us know how you get on!! GOOD LUCK!

Thanks for explaining the ban Carly - I have to confess I am not up on all the rules so the explanation is really useful :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
