Ocean Turquesa & Coral Brides?

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone!

I am a newbie and my Fi & I are looking at having our March 2010 wedding at this resort. I've read all your great pages of information, that is so helpful!!

If anyone can send me pics from here and the wedding pkg information, that would be greatly appreciated! I think because I am new, they don't open.

Thanks!

Amber

Hi Everyone!

I am new here- we are getting married in October or November next year, but we haven't decided on a resort yet. I have been looking at everything on this forum and now I have a list incredibly long of places to consider!!!

We are going to Cancun/Rivera Maya for a few days in October to check out some resorts, but in looking at the pictures and reading reviews, I think this one is going to be at the top of the list, however I didn't see anyplace on their website regarding weddings- I wasn't sure who to contact to set up an appointment prior to us getting there in October and I was also hoping to get some info online before we get there (I can't download any of the docs on the forum yet- I don't have enough posts yet).

Thanks!

Tracy

Clarissa, I got married there in March and I negotiated everything before I got there and got almost everything cheaper than originally quoted. Don't be afraid to play tough. Just tell Ana that you are on a tight budget...and don't forget to save e-mails of quoted prices to bring with you in case there are any mistakes. Ana is really nice to deal with and I even got a few extras that I wasn't aware of. If anyone has specific questions you can e-mail me directly at shelley.reil@hotmail.com I am not on this site often and I don't get notifications anymore on when there are new posts.

Thanks, Shelley

Hi everyone, I'm considering the ocean turquesa as well ... right now I'm choosing between the barcelo maya palace, the grand palladium, the princess riviera, and the ocean turquesa.

I've read through the entire thread and can't find out if anyone had a private cocktail hour and then reception on the beach? Is this available? I've e-mailed and asked but have not yet heard back.

Thanks!

Congrats Angelfire! That's very exciting!

I was also considering hiring an outside minister, but just remember the resort charges an outside vendor fee, (from what I remember it was about $400?), I know it seems like so much money to pay $450 and were having a symbolic ceremony as well.

BTW, if anyone else was waiting longer than usual to hear back from Ana, apparently she had a fall and she was off for a little while, but she is back now and has replied to my emails :)

Hi Nickrista,
I did alot of research and emailing back and forth with diff photographers in the area. Here are the quotes I received from them (mind you, these were from a couple of months ago, I decided to bring a local photographer since she was able to match the price and we don't have to pay the vendor fee :)
Cecilia Dumas - US$1550 + vendor fee
Sascha Gluck - US$1125 + "
Moments that Matter - US$1600 + vendor fee

There are tons of really good photographers in the area, and these 3 were the most reasonably priced (based on the package you choose). Good luck! Oh and some of them may be able to help you out with the vendor fee as well :)
I am just curious, getting married at Ocean coral on sept. 11th. asked Ana about hiring a different photographer. She sent me a photo price list and the name of the photographer (Ana Morales)they use but they don't have a web site so I can look at other pics they have taken. Ana said I could only bring an outside photographer in if they were guests at the resort. Not sure yet what I am going to do, I don't like paying $500 plus for a photographer when I am unable to see their work.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
