Ocean Turquesa & Coral Brides?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone found it's easier to call rather than wait for an answer to an email? We emailed them back about picking the date, details with a couple quick follow-up questions... that was over a week ago and no answer.

Not impatient, just wondering if shoring things up on the phone is easier.

And we've officially put our deposit down and are booked for April 11, 2014. Turns out, phoning was the best option as they answered all my questions right then and there and I had forms sent to me within 15 minutes. They may have been motivated to secure the deposit, but still...

Now to spend the weekend finishing my DIY save-the-dates and envelope liners. Oh, and trying to make my handwriting for the envelopes legible. Calligraphy pens are intimidating!

Quick question for the past brides...I'm looking at doing menu cards but if you go off of the menu options it looks like we're having a lot of dessert and a main but  not really anything about the sides/accompaniments.  We are going with the beef wellington menu and i'm wondering if anyone can tell us what that comes with?!?  We leave 3 weeks tomorrow!  I cannot believe how fast the time has gone by!

Hi girls!!

I'm new to the forum and thought I'd introduce myself!  I've been stalking the forum and read every single page!  Wow!! There is so much information and I got an answer to most of my questions.  My wedding is booked for April 28, 2014 and we'll be having a Symbolic ceremony on the beach. We have a small group, 20 people, and I'm hoping to have my dinner/reception at La Petite Creperie.  We went to OCT in April 2012 for a one week vacation and absolutely fell in love!!  The resort definitely has everything that we were looking for and that is why we chose them for our wedding.  So, no need to do a site visit which is perfect!  I was initially speaking with Ana via email but, was recently transferred to Cynthia Lira who informed me that she would be my wedding coordinator.  I'm wondering if the resort hired a few extra people to help out with weddings or if they simply changed the staff.  Anyhow, it doesnt matter as long as I'm served appropriately.  Happy planning :)

@Jjj127  I bet you're wedding will be gorgeous, you'll be getting married when the sun is starting to go down! I've heard that the Creperie is beautiful!! I take it that you're having pictures done before the ceremony? We have a gap between our ceremony and reception for pictures. I'm hoping we have nice weather- I've always dreamt of getting married on the beach! We have about 50 people coming too. We are having a 'welcome dinner' which is going to be held at the buffet since there is no charge if you make a reservation at the buffet, we could only have either 6pm or 9pm. Ana said if we wanted breakfast or lunch we would have to pay extra. All the 'extra' costs sure add up!! We decided not to have a rehearsal dinner, again it would be another extra cost! Planning is going alright, I kind of feel disorganized but I'm sure it will all work out! We have hired an outside photographer (Dean Sanderson) and a videographer (Cinematic Riviera Maya). I have only been dealing with Ana so far, and ya, I agree it's hit and miss for sure. How's your planning going? Are you doing anything extra for decorations? We are going to have flowers line the aisle and then we'll use the same arrangements as centre pieces for the reception. I'm sure we will run into eachother once we're there! Happy Planning Hi did they charge you extra for the petit creperie ???

Hello ladies!!

My name is Shanna and I am currently planning my 1 year anniversary trip! :)  My husband and I were married at Sun Palace in Cancun on Nov 23, 2012!  I have seen this resort on here multiple times and I am considering it for our anniversary trip!

Can you ladies help me out with questions about the resort itself?

Is the "privilage" really worth it?

Is there a section of the resort you should/ shouldn't stay at?  I know we want an ocean view room!

How is the food?  Any restaurants that you HAVE to go to or should stay away from?

How are the bars?  Good alcohol and beer?

Is there nightlife at all?

How is the beach/ ocean?  Is the seaweed a major problem?

Has anyone gone off the resort to do a tour or park at all?  How far away is Xel-ha or Xcaret from this resort?

Thanks ladies and I hope everyone's wedding planning is going well! :)

Are there any recent or soon to be Ocean Turquesa brides that can answer my questions above?  Or anyone that has recently stayed at the resort?  Thank you!!!

Hi everyone I am getting married here In two weeks. Planning has been an absolute disaster and I wish I had the option to go somewhere else. I have a total of 54 guests coming and I have tried for 5 months to get a response to plan my wedding. My travel agent has also had a very hard time with them. I was originally dealing with Ana who was awful. She denied all contact with me for a year and would not reply or return voice mails or emails. I got Ana on the phone once about a month ago and spent about an hour planning our wedding. She was suppose to set me up with a dj so I could discuss with them what I wanted. After two and a half weeks with nothing and then having to call the resort 5 times I finally got someone on the phone. My wedding was transferred to Cynthia and was told Ana would no longer be dealing with my wedding. Best of all everything that I had planned with Ana was apparently not done. 17 days away from my wedding I learn nothing has been done !!! I am so disappointed with this place and I have not even arrived. I really hope they can pull there stuff together by the time I arrive with all my guests. Wish I could have taken this money elsewhere

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
