Ocean Turquesa & Coral Brides?

Recommended Posts

Hey Bc, I sent you the free wedding package from the wedding planner there. The free wedding isn't so free though!! lol My fiancee loved it when I told him that we had to pay for our minister and flowers and supper..Buffet is free but no thanks!! They charge 450 for a minister or judge is a little more including transportation. I have decided to get the free package and make my own kinda thing..The free package covers the basics, a la carte restaurant is $20 pp, flowers are 150 maybe for bride and maids, my minister is 350 then 70 for day pass to resort. soo for 20 people..I am spending 970 approx for what I want. The package was 2000 that would of covered what I wanted plus a bunch of things I didn't need. Do all your homework before choosing..with all the help on this site...it makes it easy!

Hello everyone -

I am planning an April 2010 wedding and Ocean Turquesa & Coral is one of my top choices right now (although it changes several times a day). My travel agent LOVES this property (she is also a family friend, so I trust her completely). I have read mixed reviews online about the service at the resort. Does anyone have more information on this? I did receive an email from the wedding coordinator with a lot of info on logistics and their wedding packages attached. If anyone would like me to forward them this, just let me know. I would also LOVE if someone could send me photos of a wedding there, as I have not been able to find any at all. My email is msbaxter@live.com.

Thanks!

Becky

Thanks for the info! I agree with you that their "free" wedding package doesn't come with much. We are also having about 20 people and would rather have a private reception. My fiance is not very happy about the fact that we have to pay for "reception dinner" and "open bar" at an AI. I would consider a reservation at an ala carte restaurant, but I don't think they would provide a dance floor, sound system, in one of their restaurants? Did you get the rates for addtl items, e.g. flowers, and such from the WC? I will try and email her these questions and hopefully get a timely response :) Thanks for your advice, $970 is alot cheaper than $2000!

PS does anyone know if Ocean Coral/Turquesa offers timeshare properties?

This attachment is what the WC sent me. It lists the wedding packages and marriage requirements. The last page lists the "extras" and their costs.

Hope it helps!

Becky

I will do the A La Carte restaurant supper which is considered semi-private..for 20 pp. (If you go private, your looking at fifty something pp..) You get the restaurant for 1.5 hrs then we will gather wherever the action is and play an i-pod to have our first dance and hopefully there is a band or dj playing in one of the areas..?? not really sure. The WC said that the outside bar by the pool has entertainment/music until 3am each night but the reviews say there is no entertainment in the evening at that resort??...not sure what to think./? Anybody have any info about this?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
