I was also considering hiring an outside minister, but just remember the resort charges an outside vendor fee, (from what I remember it was about $400?), I know it seems like so much money to pay $450 and were having a symbolic ceremony as well.
BTW, if anyone else was waiting longer than usual to hear back from Ana, apparently she had a fall and she was off for a little while, but she is back now and has replied to my emails :)
Thank you!! I can't wait to hear all about your special day (and see pics!).
We have booked a wedding package with Air Transat and got a great deal. That is a point about outside vendor fees. We are paying for an outside photographer already so maybe I will use their minister.
I haven't talked much with Ana yet about options, etc but I figure I have time yet. I was going to email her and ask if the restaurants have a dress code in effect so men coming to the wedding know if they need to have on long pants and closed toe shoes. Its the small things I have questions about right now.
Did you get any information on costs for additional items?

Thanks,
Amber

If you PM me your email, I can email you the wedding packages file that includes a list of extras and their costs, however, I do suggest emailing Ana with the specific extras you want and she may be able to work out a price for you too... which wedding package from Transat did you choose? I am looking at getting the Bliss one :)

Sorry, I don't think I have enough points to PM (or I just can't figure it out)
My email is angelfire569@hotmail.com
We are going with the Bliss package! Additional costs so far is photography & minister, but I wanted to know what decorations are included in that package and possibly having some appetizers and cocktails on the beach for family & friends while we take our pictures (in between ceremony & reception). I'd also like to know if the Transat package gives us only one option of bouquet or can you choose your flowers....oh boy< I am a newbie. Still feel like this is a dream wink.gif

Could someone explain to me if one chooses the Shooting STar wedding package if it includes everything or does one pay extra for things? If so how does one get the "free package" and book extras accordingly. Does someone have some pics to send of their wedding on the beach, reception setup and the cost (if you don't mind)? My email is newchapter37@hotmail.com. My wedding is at the Ocean Turquesa in early December and we are having 25 guests. We are also having a symbolic ceremony and getting married at home the night before we leave (to avoid any problems with the legalities afterwards). So I am a little confused after reading some of the posts as to what is the best way to go in setting something up and the cost. What are some of your opinions as to what is the best way to go? Greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi bridetobedec,
When in Dec is your wedding? ours is on the 16th! and we are also having 25-30 people. I was going to get the free package (if you book a master suite) but then Transat came out with their own wedding packages and it is more value for your money. Not sure if you are flying with Transat but if you are, worth checking it out. We are also having a symbolic wedding but will do it after we get back. Getting excited!!!

Hi girls! We are leaving in a month for our 9/19/09 wedding! I was wondering if anyone needed their dress steamed before the ceremony? I emailed Anna and another resort has a steamer and they charge $30 to do it. I don't think I am comfortably leaving it in someone else's hands. Just wondering if anyone has done this and/or how it went. My dress is all satin. Any suggestions?

Thanks- Brooke

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
