Ocean Turquesa & Coral Brides?

Recommended Posts

 lisam3604- I can see your point about the reception but wonder if you will "miss out" on the closeness and intimate feeling of having your closest friends and family in the moment with you on your big day?

I really love your idea about the save a dates and the wedsite and wish I would have thought about that!  We just sent out our Save a dates but also only have 7weeks for our guests to put down their deposits so the invites will also be going out within the week only 1.5weeks apart.  I feel like once the invites go out the stress will melt by 80%...great thinking!

It's crazy how all consuming this gets!  Save a dates, OOT bags, photographers etc etc etc!  Soooo glad I found BDW and this forum!!!

@ajhutch~

Welcome to the forum! I found the website not too long ago but with all the info I found here we were comfortable enough to go ahead and decide on having our wedding there as well. Our date is June 23, 2013!

Just an idea for you in case you're stressing out about asking your guests to make a commitment and put a deposit down so much in advance... my fiance and I are actually putting down the deposit for the guests. Basically we are estimating how many rooms we will need and putting the money down to reserve it. This way our guests have more time to make a decision and plan their trip etc. When the guests finally book their trip, the hotel will transfer the money you paid towards your stay so to me it works perfectly. I was just very uncomfortable to ask the guests to make a decision with 1 year in advance. Thanks to other brides here that told me about this now I'm happy with the situation!

You can work on the cancellation policy with the resort but if I remember correctly there's no penalty if you cancel the rooms you will not be using 30 days prior to your wedding. Seems fair to me.

Just something to think about ;)

Anyone have success booking the creperie for their reception location? My wedding is on a Friday and I've heard they are closed on Fridays and that is how other brides have been able to get this location in the past.... Any wise words of wisdom? I emailed Ana a few weeks ago but have not heard back. Has anyone heard if the nail techs at the resort are any good? Or do mos brides get their nails done prior to arrival?

Just keep asking and see what they say.  It took us months for them to agree on that location, but persistence worked ;-)

@Shanon09 - thanks much for the info!  I have been looking at some of suggested photographers on here and have asked for price lists.  I'll have to check take it foto :)  We are close in date, how's your planning coming along?

@ajhutch- we are excited to work with takeit foto :) we ultimately chose them because they do not base their packages on hourly rates which worked much better for what we were looking for! Also they have been so great to communicate with :) and take great pictures!! Our planning is going good! I'm actually just looking up some ideas on OOT bags! How is your planning coming along? What dates will you be at OCT?

@tropiclover-I was just browsing through your pictures again :) so pretty!! Anyway I have a question, I noticed that you and your now husband seen each other before the wedding, is that correct? If so, do ou have any pros or cons of having it that way and not him first seeing you walking down the aisle? I am just trying to figure out a timeline :) thank you!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
