Ocean Turquesa & Coral Brides?

Yes that's my plan i'd like to go back to the room with the bridal party take our own pics & freshen up before we all make our entrance.

Im thinking maybe I make an itinerary for the group on how the days going to go? or at least for my bridal party so everyone knows where they're supposed to be.

Plus theres gonna be a few toddlers in our group so it'll be a good break for nap times & such loll.

I hate being rushed so I guess its good I have so much time??? hopefully it works out well loll

Ya I was thinking that, I can always ask what are my options for a cocktail hour. although I think id rather have the extra reception hour versus cocktails.

I know a photographer who said the same thing, and she takes pictures throughout the week as well...I was contemplating that as an option, but this photographer's pictures aren't the greatest.

I booked with transat too, it was the easiest for a group booking & we got the same, 16th for free. I thought for sure we would have 16ppl booking easy...but now I dunno because so far everyones taking their time dropping a deposit?? im hoping the invites give them a memory boost to put in their deposit.

yup I think it was sunwing with the 11th free, but I think they charge your whole groups deposit in advance on your CC...I didn't really like that option.

PS did ana send you the flower catalogue? or not yet?

Hello Ladies,

I'm planning my wedding at Ocean Coral for May 2015. I just emailed the resort to confirm our actual wedding date, but am wondering how long it will take them to get back to me?

I just went back and read your other posts about having trouble getting deposit confirmations, etc.

I will be patient and see if I get a response. I'd like to get invites sent out in the next couple of weeks...

I'm excited to be joining this thread!

Hey Hanna, welcome!!

Im planning my wedding for april 2015.  Have you handed in your deposit at all the papers that come with that?  (i know we forgot the credit card plating our first try!)  It took almost 3 weeks for them to get back to me and that required two phone calls to them, finally the last one to ana directly that got the ball rolling.  Apparently they've just had some staff turnover so i assume thats where the delay is coming from.  I would give it a couple weeks and if no response start calling.  Keep an eye on your credit card statement too, they charged ours and then never got back to us until i started making calls.

Anyways looking forward to having you on this thread!!

@@aborgesbride  - itineraries are a great idea i think.  As for the rest of the ppl attending your wedding im sure they can just make an announcement after your ceremony as to where and when everyone should be back for the reception.

Were kind of nervous about ppl not putting in their deposits too, we got an "early bird" price so apparently that means that full payments are due by end of oct which is so soon!! i am afraid that will deter people from booking with our TA and maybe just risking it at the last minute…oh well, what can you do.

i havent gotten a flower catalogue, I figured that flowers would be something we would decide on once we got to the resort, but maybe not.

Where is the information/documents for the deposit? I am just in the beginning stages of actually getting down to business and planning. My TA only gave me the email address for Ana and told me to send her an email.

I am getting ready to send the wedding reservation form and credit card authorization... even though I haven't had any contact with the wedding coordinators at the resort. Is this the best way to go to get the ball rolling? I know Britt mentioned she waited a long time to hear anything back and finally had to call them directly. I just want to have confirmation of the wedding date, all the other details I am ok with dealing with closer to the actual date. What was your experience with confirming your wedding date?

My experience was a bit different... I went through my TA, who originally contacted the resort WC and got the ball rolling for me.  I was cc'd on their emails, and sent my credit card deposit to the OCT WC myself, and the WC sent me a confirmation of my wedding date within days.

Thanks @@MrsSheppardToBe

I feel like my TA should be doing the same thing, but she told me to contact the resort WC directly.

I'm just going to send the forms in and if i don't hear back in a couple of weeks I will have my TA reach out to them by phone.

Other OCT brides, what was your experience with confirming your wedding date?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
