Ocean Turquesa & Coral Brides?

Recommended Posts

Ladies,

Where is everyone having their reception? We were thinking of having it in the ballroom. Just for the air conditioning and extra privacy. Opinions?

I'm using the lobby terrace for my reception.  I just didn't see the point in going all the way to Mexico just to have my wedding reception in a ballroom.  I think the outdoor reception gives it that little something extra and showcases the destination wedding more.

We are having our reception on the outdoor lobby terrace as well.  I totally agree with Jenna's comment...why go to Mexico to be indoors!  We wanted the Mexican feel and being outdoors with the warm air, sounds of the ocean and overlooking to ocean is just what we wanted.

If it is any reassurance, it is warm during the evening but, not to the point where you would want to be in an air conditionned room.  Have you been to the resort already?  There is always a nice little warm breeze going on during the evening and it's kinda nice.  It's just comfortable...not excessively warm and not too cold.

Has anyone had Cynthia as their wedding planner? I've sent her multiple e-mails to no response asking for availability in terms of planning a welcome dinner etc. and have gotten no response for over a month. I'm wondering if she's still there? I've been using the regular weddingsoct e-mail address and I'm wondering if anyone has a better one to use?

Thanks for any help, ladies!

@@Leslied You won't regret choosing the terrace! It's very breezy and the evening weather here in April is usually perfect. Tip: it doesn't hurt to plan on having a very light shawl for dinner on the off chance the temperature dips a little. With the wind evenings can sometimes feel chillier...well that is until you get dancing! :)

Thank you for the tip and information ;)  I can't wait!!  Less than 8 weeks to go!! :)

Cynthia was my original coordinator, however I also haven't heard from her in months!  All my emails are being replied to by either Pamela, Ana, and more recently, Vanessa.  I'm not sure that Cynthia is there anymore, but all my emails are being replied to in a week or 2 by one of the other coordinators.  What I'm also doing is printing all the emails just in case there is any confusion when I get there.

Wow!!  Coming up so fast!  You must be so excited!  Can't wait to see pictures when you get back :)

I also agree! The number one reason we did not go forward with a traditional wedding in Chicago was becaue we didn't want it to be indoors, and the one outdoor venue we really wanted was booked for 2 years! I've said before, I know someone who was married here last year in May...her reception was on the terrace and she said it was so amazing. So much that she didn't even need much in the way of decorations because with the moon, the ocean, etc...the atmosphere is just right! We have 2 more months until ours! I'm getting really excited!!

Hey ladies!!

Im brand new to the forum and have (after a couple of dedicated days) made it through the whole forum..phew! I have not yet booked my trip or wedding yet as I wanted to make sure id thoroughly researched the resort before booking.  We are plannong for april 2015...sounds like you girls are so much closer to your big day than I am!

So far my corispondance with vanesa has been not too bad but it makes me feel anxious just thinking about "locking down" the terrace for the day of our wedding.  I guess I need to make sure of that the day I give my deposit!

We are considering bringing our own photographer down from home... our travel agent has told us that commonly the "perks" you get with booking a group is that every 11th trip or 6th room or something like that will be free so the bride and groom usually go for free.  However with the number of guests wer expcting i am anticipating having a few *extra* rooms for free, so were thinking of hiring a photographer here to travel down with us and give them the free room and the she can capture our weddding (and hopefully some other great moments too).  I surprisingly havent heard anyone else mention this method on the 7 years of converstation on here...

Anyways, i feel so overwhelmed by all the info ive read on here I dont even know what questions I have for you girls!  So just wanted to say hi :)

looking forward to hearing alll about your weddings!!

Welcome and congrats!!  I think it took me about 6 months or so to book the resort.  I exhausted my travel agent, getting rates from almost every resort (and finding something wrong with almost all of them).  Once I found this resort I knew this was the one.  And I am getting married on the rooftop terrace which I think is a gorgeous setting for a wedding ceremony.  I'm very happy with my decision, and I wish you all the best with the big decisions you will be making!  Don't worry, once you've picked a resort and have the deposits paid for your block of rooms it all gets SO much easier!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
